    That hurts Scott.... :)

BTW, got the can for my Surgeon, and I have to get the gun rebarreled now because I need a .338 mount so need new contouring on the barrel.... can in hand and won't be able to shoot it for like 2 months. :(

Hahaha, you're still on my best friend list. I guess the list is just getting bigger and more diverse! I needed a Rimfire Bestie!

So I picked up my new KIDD rifle yesterday but I ended up returning the stock I ordered from Stockysstocks.com because I didn't like the fit of the barrel channel. It was slightly cocked to the right when the barrelled action was seated into the inlets and I just wasn't going to accept a bad fit considering what I spent on the mechanicals. Kim over at Stocky's was more than accommodating so I sent it back for a replacement.

Which stock disappointed you? I was looking at Stockystocks for a replacement for my 10-22 stock, but don't want to buy a problem.

I picked up one of their new Premium Classic 10/22 stocks (*INTRO!* Ruger 10/22 Classic Checkered Walnut & Laminated Stocks - .920 Bull & FBC - Gloss or Satin Finish). The stock was beautiful but there was a problem with the fit at the far end of the barrel channel. I think it was a one-off issue. I bought a similar stock a few months ago (with a standard barrel channel) and it was good to go. Kim at Stockys was very accommodating and she shipped out a replacement yesterday. I hope the new one will be good.

So I finally got my replacement stock back from Stocky's and mated her to the new KIDD Supergrade. These pictures don't do it justice. The stock is high gloss, has great figure, and looks awesome with the polished silver KIDD. I've got my Mueller APV mounted on it temporarily until I can replace it with a silver Leupold VXII... but it looks pretty good on the girl anyway don't ya think? It will be a while until I can save enough cash for a great scope so for now I will enjoy her as she is.

Anyway, I'm taking her out this weekend to Eagle Peak to get sighted in and see what she likes to eat. If you're up at Eagle Peak this Sunday between 11am to 4pm look for me... or my gun .

I just transferred one of those for a customer. He bought it used and whoever owned it before him hd that trigger set so heavy it was insane like a 6 pound trigger pull. slick rifle though.

Thanks guys. Can't wait to shoot her. Gary, what did you end up getting from KIDD?

I picked up a charging handle and a bolt buffer. I am looking at the trigger kit, but frankly I've been really happy with my Hornet. I may just leave my 10-22 Target as is after the new stock and start planning for a custom KIDD.

I 100% encourage you to build a custom KIDD. This is my first full-build and I can tell you it won't be my last. I'm not sure I can buy a stock 10/22 anymore. If enough of us show up to the next meet with KIDDs in hand then maybe we can make Scott jealous enough so that he'll quit making excuses and join the club...

(he's kind of a snob with his oh-so-special Anschutz)

Hear that, Scott?! The gauntlet is down! BOOM!

That jeweling on the bolt really is a nice touch.

Thanks. The scalloping is actually engraved pretty deeply into the bolt. I've seen jewelling that's essentially concentric buff swirls lightly etched on the surface. The KIDD bolt is a full-relief treatment. The pics just don't do it justice....

Sorry--wrong term used on my part. Still looks great though!
