This is an organization that is working to, aside from other things, get the ATF and NFA branch to update their methods and speed up transfers. If you aren't a member and love your suppressors and other NFA gear I would suggest joining.

    American Silencer Association

Take a look at a good video on the subject narrated by Josh Waldron, the CEO of SilencerCo. They recently traveled and met with some members of the politburo, I mean congress, and the folks at the NFA branch in WV.

That was an excellent video! It makes me happy to see some owners/manufacturers doing this. This is EXACTLY what it's going to take to affect any change. Keep up the great work ASA!

Well, they are businesses looking to increase their profits and doing this dovetails nicely with that goal. Doesn't mean that I don't support them wholeheartedly as I'm trying to get my NFA trust set up to go apply for permission from the gubment for a silencer :o

Well, they are businesses looking to increase their profits...

That's capitalism at it's finest, and you can guarantee the same mindset has been behind nearly every great accomplishment, or at least technological advancement in our society. I don't get the impression it's all profit though. Many of those guys genuinely seem to care about affecting 2A improvements.

Yeah who doesn't want profit. Those guys all have families to feed. That said, I have had a lot of contact with the guys from SilencerCo, including Josh. They are great guys who love to go out and shoot as much as possible. They are great examples for the industry.

Frankly I am surprised that anyone is able to stay in business with a drag on sales like NFA wait times for each and every sale of your product. That takes a special type of customer. However I worry that if NFA wait times are fast tracked via trusts and electronic application processes, there will be an explosion of NFA purchases (great for business) but that will attract attention from the anti-gun crowd who may push to change the laws to not allow trusts anymore or worse. Right now NFA is off the radar because it's such a difficult (not really, but that's the perception) and lengthy process that almost no one understands, and most people get scared off by the process. But if everyone and his uncle has a gun trust and a bunch of silencers, the anti-gun crowd is going to start making some noise. It will probably lead to a crack down on trusts (going after quicken trusts and trusts that were not set up right - it will be really bad for people that didn't take it seriously and do things right) Also silencers are easy to demonize. But one thing they still won't be able to say is that it's easy to get them on the 'street' or that gangsters are setting up NFA trusts or getting background checks to buy registered suppressors. Actually they can say that, because the truth or even evidence to support your claim is no longer required for anything the left says anymore. I think it will lead to a push to change the NFA laws though, that will probably get rolled into another AWB.
