Currently the one on most people's minds is George Allen Kelly in Arizona. Even though there's a good chance he didn't shoot anyone, and and may have just happened to have fired "warning shots" (never do this by the way) at a group of trespassers the night before a body was dumped on his land. He's being railroaded and treated like a murderer even though he was dealing with a group of armed people trespassing on his land.

I remember a rancher there was killed some time ago by one of those smugglers who trespassed on his property. I hope the guy in this case cites that incident. I am surprised Arizone took an alternate turn as I know Kari Lake would not tolerate this if she was in charge.

More than that - incentivize stable family structure in social welfare programs, as well as incentivinzing getting off said programs and into decent jobs.

Right now the system is rigged to keep the poor dependent on the government and out of the workforce...which leads to crime among people with enough to get by on but nothing more. And quite intentionally, from what I've seen.
This has been the Democrat strategy since the Kennedy administration. “Give” everybody just enough to survive. You literally don’t have to do anything for it. Just breathe, eat, shite, and vote. It’s truly pathetic.

I was in Medical School back in th LBJ days, and watched the ‘’AFDIC’’ program literally destroy urban Black Families.

Single women were given $300/month per illegitimate baby. This disincentivized marriage.

The single women led lives of debaucherd; drugs, sex, & alcohol.

The resultant babies were then given to grandmothers on welfare in housing projects to raise, who then got ‘’food assistance’’, free health care, & baby formula. The grannies never got any of the AFDIC money.

the young women partied incessantly and referred to the children as ‘’My little CHECK!’’

    This was a well-known set-up some 50 years ago.

Rather than just looking at the symptoms, we need to address the root of the problem, which is liberals who will do anything, legal or not, to achieve their goal of destroying the country that we love. They view high crime as a feature, not a consequence.

Started with Roosevelt. The welfare budget of the United States totaled $1.215 trillion in fiscal year 2022, or 19% of all federal outlays. Eight different federal agencies run welfare. Total U.S. government expenses on public prisons and jails is $80.7 billion. Euthanasia would be much more cost effective for parasites and felons. We could double the defense budget.

According to a Federal Retiree I know, if the UNFUNDED COMMITTMENTS are added to the acknowledged “National Debt”, the figure approaches $90T, and is un-payable, already.

For instance: the entire federal employee & military retirement system is completely unfunded; a monthly “pass-through” scheme.

We could start by cutting foreign aid to all countries.

Damn right - stop laundering money overseas to countries that hate us, or only exist because we prop them up. All the foriegn aid we spent annually, plus the over 150 Billion we've sent to Ukraine would've gone a long damn way to fixing the problems we face here at home.

    Asteroid. Really fucking big one.
It is time for a big reset.......i think we are pretty close to God just giving up on this and allowing human nature to kill itself off into a very small population of people who will be the productive re-populator's

Our World has survived terrible times before.

But, we cannot just abandon all Human History, Western Culture, and the Judeo-Christian Ethics borne of millennias' experience.

We are at a major crisis, most nations are led by Tyrants; and, only a few nations' people have both the will & the ability to "overcome".

As the late Walt Kelly had his cartoon gator, "Albert" tell the unlucky "Pogo" the
    'Possum:

"We have met the enemy, and he is US !",

    (Praphrasing Wellington at Waterloo!)

We US Citizens are now "it", and will decide the future of the entire World.

    May GOD help us. . . . . .

Actually, everywhere now, especially in all large cities.

We have young criminals running loose, shooting both one-another and innocents.

Our revered 2A is under constant attack by those who would disarm us all.

Our ‘’Gordian Knot’’ seems to be this: ‘’How could we disarm only those likely to commit violence while preserving the Rights of regular citizens ?

Even from where I sit, somewhat isolated, it is easy to identify which small social group is committing most of these nocturnal ‘’gun crimes’’.

Once something terrible happens, we then see lengthy records of numerous prior police encounters & warnings.

Our Courts hide behind special ‘’Juvenile Justice Rules’’, and bow to criminals’ family pressures, instead of protecting the Public.

Yet, if we point this out; we are accused of being ‘’racists’’.

Does anyone have an answer ?

    leVieux
    .

Yup, no jail. I knew a couple good old boys that were cops that those that were a constant problem didn't make it to jail after too many problems.

Catch & release by DA is an issue here in Bexar Co.
Our DA, Joe Gonzales, is bought and paid for by that azz ole Soros to the tune of $958,000.
    Everyone calls him "Let'em-go Joe".
When police caught the vibrant woman who stole the HK MP5 (full auto) from Lonestar range, he let her go on bail of less than the weapon's worth, and she never said where the weapon went.

30-40 years ago, there was an SAPD officer that was taking care of business if a perp walked, believe his name was Steve Smith.

This is what makes me terrified to live in major cities like Houston. What happens if there's a food shortage? Or another 'great freeze' and people start breaking into other people's homes to survive. We already have daily violent crime, imagine how many hundreds of people would die every day in a crisis.

It makes me want to live in the middle of the woods with a moat and a PKM on my roof.
