He could have just hid it by editing it out...

If you handle guns enough it is bound to happen.

There are those that have had one, those who will have one and those who are liars and say they havent had one...

Nearly everyone I know who does much with guns has had an ND ant one time or another. Just because he caught his on camera and didn't have ego pushing him to edit it out to maintain his image isn't a reason to think he is a moron.

He's kinda hokey, but he usually has some good info and is actually up there on my list of "reliable gun info" with Garand Thumb and Forgotten Weapons

Ego has nothing to do with being a moron. He's a moron. People make mistakes. People also have an obligation to operate something right. A gun or a car for example. If he keeps having issues, he's not holding himself accountable and learning from it. You would figure the more we handle weapons the better our muscle memory is. We have all done stupid stuff in life, but when they repeat, I raise my eyebrow. He did it. I don't have any obligation to not call him a moron. That's how people sometimes need to figure it out. Need to have your whole crew tell you you're a bone head and you need to say yup I was.

In hindsight I love my former bosses that didn't hold the punches back.

Once is bad. 2 to 3 times is terrible. At that point you need to sell real guns and get some time on nerf or airsoft.

On a lighter note, I think at one point he intentionally tried to do a negative review, and chose a crappy ring of fire pot metal pistol, something like a Jimenez or phoenix .25acp. he got like halfway through before he just started talking about how great it was and how much he liked it.
Exactly. It's no ones place to judge his character, and I certainly have been more angry in life as of late, but actions speak louder than words. If he keeps showing he can't get right, I'm not going to feel bad for the words that slip out of my mouth.

Sootch owes no one an explanation to his character. I'm sure like many of us, he's done nice things. I just don't see the track record that he got his shit together. When I was younger, I remember an accident on a job site. A large tool box fell from three stories. Once and only once will I ever see that. No one was around, but I reported it. And I was beyond thankful no one was around because you can sure as hell bet that WOULD have killed someone. For me that was the one that made me take things way more serious. YOU DONT SCREW AROUND and when It comes to guns, I have not had an ND. I'm not being cocky, I'm being respectful to how deadly a mistake with a gun can be. I remember telling our safety guy about the tool box and was not shy on words describing myself. I'm sure I called myself a moron or a POS and made sure I took my time with safety after that. What happened was I went to that level, and didn't see the box wasn't wheel locked. I don't remember who's tool box it was but the moment I touched it, it started rolling. My failure was walking past a problem. I should have seen the tool box was in an unsafe spot and blocked the opening.

Working at a Kroger DC, I had witnessed a lot of kids that didn't listen...That's why I ignored a lot of my paper work and would be on the floor to police em. Too many kids screwing feet up and laying in blood.

This is why I built my muscle memory for guns. I need to know I can operate a firearm with little to no brain function...I mean that basically describes me now :D, but I would argue if the muscle memory isn't like that, you haven't built any skill. But he shoots a lot...So what gives? I might be reaching here but look at his reaction when he shot his hood...They laughed about it and didn't take it that seriously when it happened. Maybe it's his mindset that's the problem...

I have a sneaking suspicion he does it on purpose to get clicks. I don't know which is worse.

I thought that about Tex Grebner back in the day. I was thinking: This guy is acting.

No...He's special. Then he shot himself. But what happened with him was a sad story. So...Sometimes when people need attention it's easy to pick up a camera, make videos, and pretend to be a trainer. With Tex, that's what got him hurt. He pretended to be someone he wasn't.

That's interesting to think Sootch did those events as a stunt.

I know in one instance he puts some speed holes in his hood, and he throws his head back in laughter.

Did something similar with my mini-14 to the hood of my truck, years ago. Cost me a grand to fix the hood and replace the AC line that it took out. Not my finest hour to say the least.

    Yeah. Older truck, too.

With as much as he makes off YouTube, one video probably paid for him to buy that old truck to abuse. Kinda like when FPS Russia would blow shit up. It was more entertaining to watch him back an old F250 with tannerite and set it off, than to see S00tch put a few wee holes in the hood of his.

    But what was your reaction?
I was not pleased to say the least. I was resting the magazine (30 rounder) on a pistol rug so I would not scratch the hood. Was shooting at a cinder pit and was in an elevated position from the target area. Sighted in on something closer than the targets and although I could not see the hood through the scope, the angle was such that bullet impacted the hood. I did not realize until after the second shot. Caught it on the far side away from me. Lead splatter put a pin hole in the AC line. Doh!
