Your fear of being mistaken for a bad actor if something should happen is the reason products like these are on the market:

I pocket carried this last week and was 1 million percent for comfortable sitting down. Probably not the fastest draw but I can live with that.
As long as you carry, it’s all good. Some people claim to “carry” but often do stuff like leave their gun in the glove box. That’s how the Korean guy in Dallas got killed.

Got a link to that? First I've heard of it - but then a lot of semi-local news goes by without me noticing.

I think it happened last month. Some Korean guy got into a fender bender with a group of 3 ladies in another car. They called their boyfriends or relatives, it’s unclear, and a bunch of rowdy males arrived and made the situation tense. A fight ensued and the Korean guy took multiple punches to his head.

He rushed to his Jeep to retrieve his gun which was in the glove box which of course caused the other guys to get their guns. Somehow it ended up with the Korean guy taking multiple shots and dying after running away a short distance. Pretty pointless tragedy.

Wow. Even worse than I thought...and if he actually carried he'd probably still be alive.

Yup. He'd be alive because he could have stopped the punching before it started and safely extricated himself from the situation. But his gun was in the glove box for some inexplicable reason... Oh well, hindsight and all that.

When I say I "carry", I mean I literally have the gun on me when I go out. Driving, walking through a department store, out for a jog, you name it, it's at 3-4 o'clock, one in the chamber, ready to go.

I even have different guns for different situations. Like if I'm going to the gym, it's hard for me to have my heavier holster rigs because I am usually dressed in light gym clothes, so I have a pocket setup with a micro-380 that literally looks like I'm carrying a small phone. It just doesn't feel right to be out and about without having something on me.

People can call me paranoid, but I will always live by the adage, "I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."

I could see one reason....if he worked for a public school or some other GFS, he may not have had the opportunity or motivation to gun up after leaving work. I'm guilty of that myself.

Just another way Gun-Free Zones get people killed....

The church I attend is pretty casual, I wear a Bianchi pancake holster w/ a Colt Combat Commander and just leave my shirt tail untucked.
we actually have 8-10 members that open carry in church, I just personally prefer concealed carry

I have been carrying with a sticky holster which probably isn’t the best way but there are so many choices and I haven’t wanted to waste a bunch of money on holsters I don’t like.

I have just recentry started to carry at church but I have been uncomfortable for many reasons.

    1. Depending on where I am sitting I am alway a little nervous of printing… If someone is behind me I just dont want to make people feel uncomfortable or for them to know I am carrying a gun. I am always concerned people are noticing my gun

    2. Carrying at 4 a clock hurts my old buldged disk injury.

    3. Apendix carry digs in while sitting down.

I have heard people say well it will be comfortable when you get the right holster but if y’all could point me in a direction that would be great. I am a good size guy 6ft 1 240LB but I hate wearing baggy clothes.

    Suggestions?

I attend a small church. Plus everyone knows my wife and I carry. Plus the preacher carries as well. Drawing from a holster while sitting is usually not a good idea. I use the Standard Bag from Ranger Supply Room. It has a zipper pouch that will hold a gun (trigger is covered) and 2 extra mags. I unzip the top for easier access. Everyone calls it my man purse. LOL

Get a small 380 or 9mm and put it in your pocket in a soft holster. Unless you're wearing skin tight pants to church ;)

For those suggesting to consider a new and/or different belt check this forum as this topic is well discussed about belts.

My favorite and most comfortable method of carry is still IWB for my 4" Wilson Combat Professional in a Milt Sparks VM2, providing my method of dress that day allows it. If it does not, I carry in a pocket holster.

We all talk about carrying a gun for protection, what sbout 911 and covering your ass if you pull your gun or actually use it?
