First revolver I've ever fired was my uncle's friends Smith and Wesson don't remember which model but I think it was a 686. Had a 44 Mag Ruger Redhawk on a 4.2 in barrel. Traded my Uncle on my pops side for a SR1911CMD . That Classic Redhawk was very reliable and accurate as hell .

Kinda regret doin that trade but I do want to get a 454 Casull Super Redhawk since I have a number of parts and upgrades for a that model. I'd honestly would want to get one cut down to 5.2 or 4.5 inches since the Toklat model doesnt have high production numbers and just plain elusive.

I used to carry semi-autos until my stroke and THEN while getting into shooting again I tried my 1924 P08 Luger and I found out I lost strength in my right hand so bad I was 'limp-wristing' and the pistol failed to extract.(no more autoloaders for a while)

Out came the S&W model 37 for the Summer as CC under TEE shirts.

Time is a healer and I'm getting new brain pathways!
    Back to normal over time.

First revolver was a stainless Taurus 66 .357 Magnum. I bought it for armed security work eons ago when ramen still made the majority of my diet. Had to keep 38 Special 158gr RNL in it, issued by the company. Pachmayr grip. I wish I still had it. First firearm I ever owned. We thought we were something roaring around the facility on a “two man radio unit” Cushman golf cart, six in the gun and twelve more in two of them fancy schmantzy speed loaders. Thank goodness no one ever tried to scale the 10ft high chain link fence topped with razor wire and steal our lunch boxes.

I’ve owned lots of wheel guns over the years, have a few currently. I’m actually jonesing for a Colt Python now.

You can’t ignore the advantages of modern semi autos, but I sure do enjoy lighting off my 686 .357 at an indoor range full of 9mm’s.

"j frame smith airweights were how you carried in summer wear." It's what I carry all year round and I never feel undergunned. Well, except when going into Houston. Then there's nothing that makes me feel like I have enough.

I've had revolvers of some kind just about all my life... I like them because I can shoot them passably well, and they don't fling brass all over the place.
Concealability and capacity goes to the auto's, but I wouldn't feel at all outgunned with a good revolver and a couple of speedloaders.
    Currently I only have a model 64, 4", and a newly acquired model 13, 4". Oh, and a Taurus 685, 2" ..... I am in hot pursuit of a Blackhawk 45 Colt/ACP convertible, and hopefully, a 357/38/9mm convertible.
Until you have worked with a good K frame Smith, you simply don't know what a great trigger feels like.

The 357 Magnum is my favorite handgun cartridge of them all. You can shoot some rip snortin' Magnums or you can tone it down and shoot some mild 38 Special.

A K frame S&W in 357 is just about perfect, an N frame is almost as good.
My K frame S&W 357 is my favorite. It’s the most enjoyable shooter I own and I have a Python so that’s sayin something.

    Gunz are icky.
Everyone needs a good revolver. There may come a time when you don't want to leave your bass behind.

This is just for environmental reasons of course.

This reminded me of an silly experience I had at a snooty indoor gun range.
Their policy was ALL fired brass belonged to them. Regardless of whether it hit the floor or not. Of course the only ammo allowed on their range was brass cased.
They even insisted on inspection before firing.
So just to be a sh*t I bought out a moonclip revolver in 9mm. This guns moons were a particular PITA to unload. Doing that by hand was almost impossible. I had a special tool that made removing cases easy but they didn’t know that.
Oh I had brass cased rounds all right.
As I was shooting I would take a loaded moon from my range bag, insert, fire, return fired moon to range bag, repeat. Snooty RSO comes over to “inform” me all fired brass belongs to them. I asked him did my brass touch the floor? No? Did my brass even touch the table top? No?
All fired brass belongs to us sir.
Alright then Mr.RSO you can have the fired brass if you pick it out of MY moon clips.
I handed him a fired moon.
He looked at it, fiddled with it a bit, called me an asshole , then left me alone.
    I love revolvers. LoL.
