    Welcome!

I spend some time in that area. I'll drive from CT thru MA to NH. Everything is soooo close compared to here.

When driving across CT/MA I'm afraid to pass gas for fear of getting some kind of green house ticket. NH is wonderful compared to those states.
Thanks! Understood. Perhaps the worst part of the latter is that it doesn't even matter what laws are on the books in MA (especially firearms laws). The powers-that-be jam someone up with something that everyone KNOWS isn't actually a law, but then allows the target to spend $10s-$100s of thousands of dollars defending themselves. Even when the court eventually finds in favor of the defendant, you're still out the time/cash. Sigh...

NH is an island of freedom in a sea of, at best, socialism. Problem is that it is just that, an island.

Get ready to load up on $5 (30 round) AR & AK magazines without them needing to be pre ban. Enjoy the freedom! Welcome from NAS Pensacola, home of the Blue Angels.
Thanks! Wait, you're telling me there are 30 round mags available for less than $50 per, and I don't have to keep the dated original wrapper (and carrying it to show just in case I get stopped) to avoid being a felon?? I thought the entire firearms world revolved around the number 10 .

The question for me is how quickly can I find my tools once we get there to drill out the castration dimples on the DOZENS of rifle and pistol mags I'll be bringing.

Hi. My wife and I have lived in a number of places across America, but all at the behest of the companies I've worked for (other than where I was born, of course). I retired at the beginning of this year, and the FIRST thing we decided to do was to get the "heck" out of the people's republic of Massachusetts! We visited several "red" states, looking for the right fit. Decided on the hill country of TX. My home went onto the MLS early this AM, and we should have it sold in short order. Once the deal closes, we're out of here. A close friend in another free state congratulated us and referred to our relocation as "moving to America". :usflag:

We're tired of being surrounded by people who think they're better/smarter than we are, and that we're actually evil because we don't think the way they do. In MA, the only place we were surrounded by free thinking friends was at the Rod and Gun Club near our home. Hope to establish new friends in TX, and get involved with a new club or two where we can indulge in shooting sports and precision handloading without being thought of as the reincarnation of Nazis. Hope to also continue learning about firearms/shooting/loading from members of Texas Gun Talk as well!
Welcome and thank you for thinking of Texas as a place where freedom and the US Constitution are both respected. Ya'll will make us stronger!

    Welcome.

What are your thoughts on a bill of sale on a FTF firearm sale?
From a dealer, yes. From a private party, maybe? Never needed one in previous transactions (firearms or ammo) via a gun forum here in New England (and despite what the gov tells you, you do have to “register” transactions here). What is customary in TX?

As a follow-up question, do you prefer Ford trucks or Chevy trucks?

I sense a trap…. Let me try it this way: I live in New England, and here, it doesn’t matter which brand, ALL trucks are large gas guzzling planet killers, and so are inherently evil. In New England, the correct answer to your question is “either a Prius or a Tesla”.

I’ll have to explore the reality of my preferences when I get down there.

If you're in the fast lane, you damn well better be passing someone! :green:

    Welcome
To be fair, that rule applies everywhere I’ve lived (applies, but usually isn’t followed). My favorite characterization of someone who hangs in the passing lane comes from New Jersey. In NJ, those folks are referred to as “left lane Richards”.

For non communists, a handshake and an exchange of property for what ever the agreed upon medium of exchange is. ;)
