    Out here by the lake!
Knock wood. I’ve never experienced scope eye. I reckon prone and a large caliber screw up could fracture an orbital.
Best scope eye story was when my buddy insisted my wife shoot his .270. Not only a nice cut on her brow the bled pretty go, but she bled Al over the white sweater she was wearing.

I had promised her that I would taker her to San Leon for oysters. We stopped for gas and I sent her into pay & get drinks. Just about every swinging dick sees her all bloody & figured I had hit her. They all wanted to come out and tune me up for what I did to her.

The complete 1978 DOJ Abstract on the IIthaca Mag 10 RoadBlocker.

ITHACA'S ROADBLOCKER - SPECIAL PURPOSE POLICE SHOTGUN

THE ITHACA MAG-10 ROADBLOCKER POLICE SHOTGUN IS DESCRIBED IN TERMS OF ITS ADVANTAGES AND LIMITATIONS AND IS RECOMMENDED AS AN ENTRY WEAPON FOR FELONY ARRESTS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
    Abstract

THE MAG-10 ROADBLOCKER SHOTGUN IS APPROXIMATELY 33 INCHES IN LENGTH AND WEIGHS OVER 10 POUNDS, COMPARED WITH THE 6 TO 7 POUNDS OF A 12-GAUGE RIOT GUN. IT CONTAINS TWO SHELLS IN ITS TUBULAR MAGAZINE AND A THIRD IN THE FIRING CHAMBER. IT IS A GAS-OPERATED SEMIAUTOMATIC, WITH THE SAFETY CONSISTING OF A CROSSBOLT LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE TRIGGER GUARD. A RECOIL PAD IS STANDARD. ONE ADVANTAGE IS ITS MASSIVE SHOCK POWER, WITH FIRE POWER BEING GREATEST IN SHORT-DURATION, SINGLE OPPONENT GUNFIGHTS. EACH SHOT FIRED REPRESENTS THE EQUIVALENT OF TWO 12-GAUGE SHELLS LOADED WITH THE SAME TYPE OF BUCKSHOT, WITH ONLY A RELATIVELY SMALL INCREASE IN RECOIL AND MUZZLE JUMP. THE MAG-10 HAS 162 PELLETS AVAILABLE IN 3 SHOTS, WHILE THE STANDARD 12-GUAGE POLICE SHOTGUN HAS ONLY 135 HITS POSSIBLE WITH 5 PULLS OF THE TRIGGER. TESTS ARE REPORTED TO SHOW THE GUN TO BE EXTREMELY RELIABLE. SHORTCOMINGS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE ITS HEAVINESS AND BULKINESS, TOGETHER WITH ITS SUBSTANTIAL RECOIL. IT IS SLOW TO RELOAD, AND IT LACKS VERSATILITY. STILL, WITHIN ITS LIMITATIONS, THE GUN IS RECOMMENDED AS A SPECIAL PURPOSE POLICE WEAPON. ITS MAIN APPLICATION IS IN AN ENTRY SITUATION WHICH CONSISTS OF A CLOSE-QUARTERS RAID IN WHICH THE OFFICER MAY EXPECT TO ENCOUNTER AN ARMED SUSPECT WHO IS PREPARED TO SHOOT UPON AN OFFICER'S ENTRY. Just got an Ithaca 10 gauge out of a safe where its been hidden in a corner for some 30+ years. I started trying to figure out just what kind of shotgun it was and I ended up here on TGT on a post made by Sargent69(hope hes still around) from back in October 2017. His post and others contributions provided enough info to point me in what the right direction to look for Ithaca "RoadBlocker" in my online searches. https://www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-l...as-roadblocker-special-purpose-police-shotgun

From what Ive been able to glean online, this LE model Ithaca is one of the more rare/scarce variant 10 gauge shotguns. I have not been unable to find any recent sales other than 2 auctions that ranged from 3000$ to 5000$, with 5000$ being a variant almost NIB in original box. I would appreciate any other insights anyone may have, especially to current valuation and scarcity. The 2017 thread had top end around 2500$.

As far as condition, in my opinion, overall it appears to be in good to very good condition with normal dings on wood and finish with a bright clean bore on a gun that likely saw service use but likely not fired all that much. I have not cleaned or oiled it.

Ive included some pictures that I hope helps in positively identifying both the gun and condition - Ithaca Model MAG-10, FOR 3 1/2 IN,100035627 - ( a vertical mark like a 1?),

I used these guns in the 70's and 80's for goose hunting in Minnesota, North Dakota and Canada, cleaning was the key or you had a single shot. Great goose gun but it has been replaced with better loads in the 12 gauge 3 1/2" shells in my humble opinion.

Get it registered as a SBS, find the right person to clip down then shoot video of going thru a box of ammo. It becomes the latest greatest thing and increases price and want factor.

I appreciate any ideas and information on the " Roadblocker". Cost wise, shooting the 10 gauge magnums are about like shooting the 50ae..

While doing additional research on the RoadBlocker, I ran into an interesting post where one is used for Hog hunting in FL.

"I explained that the Ithaca 10 ga road blocker was about the most lethal weapon he could have in his hands as a 10 ga 3.5" shotgun
I,ve spent a great deal of time hog hunting, here in florida, brush tends to be thick, ranges short and a
1 3/4OZ slug loaded for stationary first shots followed by two 18 pellet 00 buckshot shells in the magazine
does an outstanding job at dropping hogs at under 45-50 yards if the person shooting has decent skills."

after reading all I could say was....dang.
