Finally figured out Midway USA shipping

Don't get me wrong I like the company and they've always treated me pretty fair
But they're damn shipping is always bullshit
I ordered something and then they gave me UPS tracking number
Only to find out a week later that they sent it to the local Post Office on UPS then the local Post Office sits on it for a day or 2 and then I finally get it
It has not been uncommon to take 10 days to get my order my order because of the way they ship

This last order I ordered a small can of Ballistol And when I put it into the cart it popped up saying this is not eligible for USPS shipping
And I thought well that's a good thing

So with that is that my order got sent directly to the house and I had it in 3 days

So I will look for small items that may be cost a few bucks to add to my order from now on that will keep it together and have them ship directly to me

The Ballistol was a $6 add on to my order of 5 or 6 other items that were not available to be sourced locally due to no stock. I will make sure and go to Academy (Mega Corp and the 3 or 4 local shops that might have profited from the sale of the Ballistol and give them all $1 to make up for their loss of revenue to please you're old retired ass.

Free shipping is free shipping. I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I think Amazon has spoiled us with the expectation of expedited deliveries.

This my friend is a special shipping option called "UPS Mail Innovations" however there is nothing innovative about it as the handoff from UPS to USPS adds days to the overall shipping time. It costs a little less to use than standard ground shipping but in my opinion not worth it due to the excessive shipping delay.

FedEx has the same type of shipping arrangement with USPS and they call it "FedEx Smartpost" however I see nothing smart about adding extra days to the overall shipping time. I ALWAYS avoid "UPS Mail Innovations" and " FedEx Smartpost" when ordering anything. Sometimes free shipping is actually one of these two craptastic shipping methods.

It took about 7 to 10 days before with Midway and I PAID for standard shipping . It wasn't free

I have encountered the same issue on a few occasions. With shipping not being nearly as reliable as it was in the past the whole hand-off to USPS increases the chance of never getting your package.

Only ordered from them once. Got an email a few days later saying “oops, it’s out of stock”. Told them I wanted to cancel, then took over a week to get the thousand bucks back in my account.


They’ll never get a dime from me.

Midway has always been amazingly fast for me. I ordered some powder from a couple different sites last week, and I’m just getting confirmation today that the orders have been processed and shipped. While the last order for powder and primers I made from Midway, I had a shipping confirmation the next day, and had the order in hand in a couple days.

I don't have anything to say negative about Midway or Brownell's. I buy from both, but only Brownell's give an FFL a discount and I buy about 90% through them..Edge membership is like $48.00/year and free shipping....I get two business day shipping. I used to wait until I got a big enough order to help spread out the S/H, but no more. If I need a $3.00 item, free 2 business day shipping. When I buy primers/powder, it helps......don't know why but sometimes they wave the hazmat fee too....
