I'm currently carrying a 3.3 xds in 45 hasn't let me down yet just ran 200 in it non stop it got dirty and ftf wiped it and carried on
I have been carrying one of these for near 10 years in daily rotation. I got it "fixed" with the recall. Several years ago the holster wear was catching uo to it so I had the slide duracoated green and had Truglo TFO sights installed. I was giving it a wipe down, lube and mag rotation a couple weeks ago and noticed the slide showing wear again.

Short of the .380 sig p238 for my daily backpack and gym short carry, the Xds .45 is the go to. I usually have something bigger when situation dictates but it has proven trusty.

there are people who have been shooting each other with jiminez's and ravens for half a century too, trash is still trash and a sample size of (1) doesnt mean its the bee's knees. You are probably one of those folks who says "I BUY AMERICAN" and yet they carry a gun made in croatia and drive an Eagle Talon which is a rebadged Mitsubishi.

    "Sample size of (1)"

Yeah, I'm the only guy in the world that likes the XD! :p

You're probably one of those Glock FanBois who can't handle the fact that Springfield made a much better pistol!

And when was the last time you saw an Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser?!? What year is it in your head?!? Those haven't been made since 1998!

But since you seem to be lacking facts across the board, Eagle was a marque of the Chrysler Corporation and those cars were built in Normal, IL! They were rebadged as Mitsubishi Eclipses!

    Do some research next time...

The irony is he was replying to a comment that also had no real proof or evidence...

there is such a thing as a joke, and if you looked up the eagle talon because of said joke you are simply a silly man
glocks are also boring guns, I only carry CZs because the Czechs have been making the best automatic pistol for nearly 50 years.

This is something of a conversation on its own. I owed a Pontiac sunbird and after rebuilding the engine and learning much about it come to find out if I recall that Mitsubishi had their engines in the talons and sunbirds. It was actually a good engine. I rebuilt mine because the kid I got it from tried to rebuild it. I got it for cheap. The kid installed a new cam with no assembly lube and didn’t understand. So I took it off his hands.

Ah, the AUG. Steyr's answer to the 5.56 carbine. The original AUG has the 1X integrated scope you're talking about - later models are flat top picatinny rails and you can mount whatever optic or sights you want. They do have different versions - the original proprietary mag, and one that is STANAG compliant (the one that takes AR mags)

Pretty cool guns, though I think I'd personally go for the Israeli Tavor before the AUG. I like the feature set on the Tavor a bit more.
I just like it because it looks like a death ray gun. I guess in at least one respect, it is. First time I saw one was at a gun show in Ft Worth. I remember being amazed at how light it was.

Was this on all 6 guns or just one of them?

All six guns - its due to the grip shape and shape of the grip safety. I found that if I gripped the pistol in the manner that Jeff Cooper and many others advocated for - that is keeping the slide / muzzle in line with the forearm, what happened is that the gun would sit in the deepest part of the web of my hand and there was not enough pressure to positively deactivate the grip safety every time.

If I shifted my grip a bit, moving the grip safety more toward my trigger finger there was more pressure on the grip safety.

That's why I think a redesign, or at least someone making an aftermarket part with the bump so common to many of the 1911 grip safeties available would solve that particular issue. It was enough of an issue that I could see having a compromised grip in an actual life & death situation could lead to the gun not being able to fire, so I gave up on the XD for serious use.

I still think its one hell of a range gun - very accurate, very comfortable and fun to shoot. I'd be very tempted to pin the grip safety if I were planning to rely on one for personal defense. Honestly I'd rather delete the grip safety and move to a thumb safety, or switch the grip safety design to the one found on some smith & wesson pistols (including their EZ line)

Hard to argue with that - they do look pretty cool, and being a 1990's gamer - the AUG was featured in a lot of games back in the day and I wanted one as a teenager just for that reason.

That doesn't negate the fact that vehicle was built in the United States, despite the claims one uninformed individual.

And you would be surprised how many foreign parts there are in US-made cars!

    Moonpies XD Collection (4).png

I found a pic while looking for Gucci plastic to poke a little fun with Moonpie with - of an XDM with the type of grip safety I mentioned would make the deactivation more positive. This does not appear to be a standard option. I haven't dug much yet but it does appear to be a custom piece. It has just enough extra material with the memory bump that it would probably work better with a compromised or in-line grip.

I have owned quite a few XD, and XDm pistols and found them to be very reliable and capable pistols. Found them to very comfortable to shoot and decently accurate as well. Not once have I ever had a problem with them shooting any sort of ammo, from various factory ammo and my reloads. All digested any ammo without a hiccup!
