The NRA is basically becoming irrelevant. The only folks who seem to pay attention to the NRA, are anti-gunners, cause 97% of gun owners are not NRA members.

They have been around 5m members for what 10 years? 4m for the 10 years before that? There were more NEW gun owners since Floyd than there are NRA members.

And we all know why they cannot grow or retain membership, WLP. Once the current generation of older Americans dies off, NRA will be lucky to have 1-2M members.

As a NRA life member, it hurts to hear that the original pro 2A group has lost its luster. It also hurts to see and know the self inflicted wounds the NRA has committed upon itself. The truth is, even if the NRA completely self destructs, it's legacy will always live on in the minds of the gun control folk. Even a weakened NRA wields the power of the old Charlton Heston NRA based on name recognition alone.

There are many great pro 2A groups out there. But that is the problem. A single group that represents more than 5 million gun owners is formidable. Five different pro 2A groups that represent a million gun owners each is something the anti 2A folk can contend with.

I became a Life Member about 20 years ago. I would not do so today, My dues have been wasted on their leadership. The remainder has been wasted with numerous requests for additional donations.

I've been an 'Associate Member' for years as a requirement to keep my range membership.

Associate Membership costs a whopping $10.00 a year (thus no magazine or swag that I don't want or need) with zero requests for me to donate...
