I remember the job I was working on even all these years later. An old nasty dump truck. Working on the air brakes. I cut myself on something, and the doctors think the staph infection came from the dirt that was on the truck. Cut got infected, and I got blood poisoning.
I worked for a garbage company in the 80's repairing garbage containers and sometimes on the trucks themselves. Although I had gotten infections, it never reached blood poisoning, which is surprising.

We received an e-mail from company HQ about two months ago that basically said, while vaccination is not mandatory at this point it could be in the future. They also sent out a survey on our vaccination status. This survey asked for our first and last names and we were told it was mandatory to reply. Seems like a pressure tactic to me. Anyway, it was then that I decided to get the jab. I was in Walmart one day and just thought I would inquire about it, they gave me the first injection of Moderna on the spot. Just got the last dose on Monday. Honestly, I didn't want the vaccination as I'm pretty sure I've already had covid, just decided to get it over with and not get into some kind of confrontation with HR over this crap. I don't think it would cast a good light on me to be arguing with them over this. I've been with my company for over twenty years and I just can't see giving up my pay and benefits to start over again someplace else. I've got it pretty cushy working in infrastructure IT, plus I can't give up four day work weeks and working from home, I've become spoiled. For me it just isn't worth the argument, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself and then call it the way you see it.
Well at least you know you a price and can be bought.

I was sort of shocked at what happened myself. We kind of had the philosophy, that unless you were gushing blood by the gallon, we just kind of patched ourselves together. Can't tell you how many times I patched a bad cut with electrical tape!

If I think it needs stitched now, I also get antibiotics!

Wait. They'll have a vaccine for that soon.

Not really, just don't feel like getting off my ass to find another job. I was nearly killed in a car crash when I was 18, I doubt some vaccine is going to kill me, I'm too ugly and mean to die.
20 years and 4-day workweeks, hard to give up. How did it feel after jab 2?

I had a reaction to the first injection, low fever and pain at the injection site for about five days, The second injection just a little pain at the injection site. Nothing to really slow me down.

Glad to hear not an intense reaction. #2 for me sounds like your #1. Didn't get out of bed that day, Netflix helped

Yeah, a lot of the people I know that got it said they had the fever and pain on the second shot and not the first. It got me on the first one just like it did the time I got a flu shot, never got a flu shot ever again, man was I sick. I guess it just boils down to how your immune system will react.

I don't plan on getting a booster, I don't think they'll force the issue either. I've heard nothing from HQ so far concerning the jab. Hopefully they'll just drop the whole thing.

Wish I had a union to back me up, nothing for the little man. And to those that think we should just up and quit and look for another job, can you pay my bills and mortgage while I'm looking? The whole tech industry is being farmed out to India and Pakistan, I'm sure I'll find a job that pays the same quickly in this market. I also have a bridge to sell too if anyone is interested.

But you got the vaccine so your job is safe and secure for complying, and they didn't even have to force it on you.

    Bravo.
