Sarcastic humor seems to go over some people's heads.

I just assume 100% of the ads there and on Armslist are scams. Kind of the same when someone post 25 one word posts here and # 26 is some neckbeard fuckery in the classifieds.

There are some good ones on Armslist

Have bought some firearms without any problems

Scams are everywhere not just online gun purchases. They also come in many forms than just this kind of thing. The same "situational awareness" talked about in terms of knowing what is going on around you when carrying also applies to life as well. If more people would be aware they wouldn't exist easily. Some people seem blind and serve themselves up on a platter. Before we start "legalizing executing" people we should get people to be more aware and not do things that are fishy in the first place. I have bought/sold and traded guns here for 30 or more years, a lot of that on Texas Gun Trader. The worst experience I have ever had is being stood up, whether buying/selling/trading. It happens and I look at it as probably better I had no dealings with them. But 90% of the time or so things go well and we both get what we want. But I am not oblivious to the real world around me.

When I see some of the conversations people have had and posted I wondered why they even went on after things obviously weren't going well. I don't respond to ads that look suspicious to me. If the conversation doesn't go exactly right I won't go on. If they don't provide a vehicle description and phone number I walk. If they are more than 15 minutes late without a reasonable excuse I walk. I never meet at my house. FTF only. Cash only. If they abuse my phone number I block them. I just picked up a Pietta BP pistol Remington 1858 clone from the site at a good price and good guy to deal with. Picking up a rifle (trade) this weekend if it works out. Hard to feel sorry for someone that doesn't do at least the minimum to protect themselves. It is a gun site and you would expect someone to use their best judgement when doing anything like this.

People are creatures of habit. They are constantly wanting to score the very best deal they can. Scammers sense this like a shark does with blood in the water.

I suspect most people that fall victim to a scam, didn't do their due diligence, and in a way, set themselves up to a victim.

100% of the ads I have responded to on both gun trader and Armslist have been fucky at a minimum, most are Indian “please do the needful” scams. I don’t even look anymore.

Good man - more for me! :D

Mebbe I've just been lucky, but in all my years on TGT, I've only seen 3-4 scammers. I'm SURE they're out there, but likely it's just that they haven't had what I'd be interested enough in to pursue, or I sensed something off-kilter and passed it by.

I’ve sold a bolt action Savage (face to face), and bought a Sig Rattler (from Louisiana, shipped to me, sight unseen) on both Texas Gun Trader and Armslist in the past without issues.

I never understand this desire to protect criminals. I don't really care where the line is drawn, my point is if we start executing more criminals, we'll have a better world.
The way I see things is that we would not have near the amount of crime we have if politicians would punish them severely instead of giving them plea bargains, parole, and good time. And stop coddling them in prisons.
