    I've made holsters before. Definitely a labor of love but worth it.

    Double saddle stitching is the way to go, but for a butt cuff you do it with a single piece of leather and then punch holes for the grommets and laces.

    I never thought of it as a stock cover, but I did make a stock pouch for a shotgun once. Started with an elastic shotshell holder, and sewed a pouch over the loops. Ugly, but it worked. Always meant to duplicate it in leather and lace. but never got around to it.

    I did one for a Winchester 94. Handy spot for a few extra cartridges. Don't know any leather workers in DFW. Hopefully someone in the area will see your post.

    I saw what he made. It was "butt" ugly! Butt, it was functional.
