I haven't seen any 50+ packages of 9mm in a while aside from Monarch (which is usually steel) and Browning.

$52.99 is pretty decent (35 cents per round) for 150rds. Considering the average market prices right now.
50 rd boxes is the only brass 9mm available at the academy nearest me. They do have bulk in the monarch steel case though

Academy on hwy 6/westheimer had .38 special yesterday in the Winchester white box. Went in right around noon and had maybe 8-10 boxes. First time I’ve seen anything .38 special in over a year.

I doubt they have anything in conroe academy. I may check before I go to the other stores today.

Not my preferred ammo, but they had a few cases of it and I got one $229.00
This was at the one in Arlington:

It was probably a good pass on all 3 depending on what you're running it through. At 229 after tax that's roughly 15.50/box. In another 6 months you'll probably see brass ammo in that range. Every Glock or striker gun I've run that in hiccups at least a few times per mag. Although I could be wrong and it's still something to shoot.

If you're not exaggerating, and have that high of a failure rate, then I would look at your grip or something. Possibly limp wristing? When I go plinking and paper punching at the range, I shoot a lot of monarch steel because in the past it was available and cheap. I've had zero issues with thousands of different monarch rounds other than being a little dirty, but I clean every time so no big deal. Please don't take this as a flame. Just something else has to be going on.

I only had one ftf in a sig x five out of a few mags but both mine and my coworkers g19s don't like it. He can't get through a mag without several light strikes, I get maybe 1 in 10. We're both running lightened trigger disconnectors. He also had problems with his g43. Maybe the Gen 5s are better but my 19 is a 3 and his is a 4th gen.

If I had a weak grip I'm pretty sure I'd have stovepipes and not light primer strikes.

Well, I'm on vacation in Galveston for a few days. Stopped by the local Academy to look for boogie boards for the kids. Didn't find any but picked up a 200 round box of .45acp, 200 round box of .380, and 333 round box of .22lr.
    The had no 9mm though.

Garland had lots of 223, 308 and 22LR. That Norma Tac stuff appears to be on a long term camping trip. It’s there every time I go.

Duh, you explained the problem in your post.
