It is difficult to read and/or listen to the anti-gun/2A crowd discuss their reasonable ideas and just common sense approach to reducing what they call 'gun violence'. But we ignore them at our own peril.

Public radio station KERA 90.1FM in DFW area had two segments; one on CDC research of firearms and new gun buyers in 2020 could shape the future of gun control. Click the link below and take a listen.

    New gun buyers

Yes, both segments made my teeth itch. But knowing one's political adversary and their way framing the gun control argument makes one better informed.

We don't need gun control, we need criminal control. The tyrant communist piece of shits in DC, know you need to strip guns rights from the people to be able to control them.

    EZ-E,

IF the REAL goal is to CUT VIOLENT CRIME, we as a free society need to pressure our elected representatives at every level to make the possession of any DEADLY WEAPON while committing or attempting to commit any violent/unlawful act subject to an additional penalty of 10 years imprisonment at hard labor & that must be served in full, without plea bargains, probation or parole, BEFORE beginning any, pother sentence that the felon may have received,

Imo, IF we passed that law, violent crime would fall by at least 20% & remain at that lower rate.

I have advocated the following gun control action in the past and will continue. Sight carefully and squeeze the trigger.

Criminal control I advocate the following and will continue to do so. Use a gun in the commission of a crime and death penalty within fourty eight hours of conviction. No plea bargains. No mental deficiency defense. I also think televised hanging would be effective as well.

Honestly, IMO, it's all pure bullshit. I don't need to know my political adversaries, or how they are wanting to frame more gun control laws, because I have known for many years what they want. For me, their message and intent has been crystal clear for decades.

Just like I don't argue, or try and convert anti-gun idiots any more. It's a waste of time and energy. The more logic, facts or evidence you provide them with, the more stupid they get with counter arguments that would make monkeys laugh at them. I got out of the hearts and minds thing years ago. If someone approaches me, and wants to know why I carry, or why I own guns, and is asking for sincere information, then I will devote some time to trying to educate them.

Gun control has never been about criminal or crime deterrence. That has simply been a feel good approach to getting the acceptance and approval from the uninformed masses to push their gun control policies for decades. Gun control is about controlling us, the law abiding gun owner.

I do agree with your second paragraph for the most part, but, it order for that to work, there would IMO, have to be a major overhaul of both the justice and penal systems in this country.

Most gun control advocates know very little about guns. The media makes most shootings about the instruments rather than the person doing the shooting.

There are evil people who look to do harm. A gun is just a convenient way to inflict harm. In the absence of a gun they will contrive another way of doing harm.

Most people are abhorred of the thought of harming another life, but the evil is intent.

I believe we need evil control, for that is the person, and a gun in the hands of the citizen is a means to combat evil.

With a gun grandma can take down evil, without it, she's just another victim.

For some years, I have heard many people tell me on several gun forums, I need to get to know those wanting to ban guns, or pass more gun control laws and understand the mindset of those that support such measures.

No, I don't. I have known for some decades now what their intentions are. I can group them into two distinct groups. One group their goal is political, and about power. Knowing that people that are unarmed are much easier to control or to take advantage of.

The second group, their motives are emotionally driven to get rid of guns. Many of them have irrational fears of guns for various reasons. Some fear an inanimate object, the gun. The feel that guns are evil or possessed, or whatever. Some have come to fear guns because of some sort of past traumatic experience with guns of some sort.

I have all the understanding I need to have of these people. Those who are politically motivated, you can't deal or negotiate, or compromise with them. They have one singular goal, and that is money and power, and they know that gun owners are an obstacle in their way to that goal.

You can't reason with irrational people either. They function at the emotional level, and no matter how much facts and evidence you show them, they will come up with ten more irrational reasons that guns are bad, or that they are evil.

So no again. I have no desire or even a reason to get to "know" these people or their intentions. I have known for years what, and who they are, and what they want. I have no inclinations of wanting to compromise with them. I don't have any reasons to want to discuss the issue with them.

I will do my best to make my post not too controversial.

I wasn’t being a smart ass when I said I think democrats worship Satan or are Nazis. The Nazis before ww2 did have a party that tried to take root in the US. If you look at the Democrats tactics, it’s very possible it’s alive and well.

My other theory might be out there for some of you. Aside from mental illness, most folks can reconsider their stance on gun control to abortion. Most people if you take them away from the evil programming democrats have at their disposal, most people have enough light in them to do the right thing. Do y’all think Democrats hate religion just because? If you look at what they promote it’s clear as day something ain’t right with their hatred for God.

Take the Clintons and their muscle, the fbi, for example. What happened at Waco and ruby ridge was an act of war on citizens. How did those two cases get to the point no one on those teams rose up and stood to defend children? Of course I understand doing so would kill a persons career but this is what democrats do...they want to snuff out Gods light from people. They want people to not know that they have access to the armor of God. Ruby ridge...how do you monitor a property for a lengthy time before raiding it and not develop a plan to bring at least children in custody alive? Think about that. The property was under surveillance and they still walked the path of bloodshed on innocent lives.

let’s look at the muscle. The fbi. It was started by a sick pervert. Then in modern times let’s look at how victims of Epstein went to them for help and like many other cases decided to Ignore the victims. It took local cops and one detective losing his life, to administer justice. Epstein also had many “associates” that to this day will be labeled “fake news”. Look at Bill Gates. His ex wife imo sounds like she had a heart and wanted to be far away from him.

Texas and immigrants...of course democrats want full open borders and max gun control. What kind of bloodshed could come from that? The kind a group of evil people enjoy.

Sigh, another thread I’ve tried to stay out of. Want to stop criminal use of guns? Publicly cut off their heads in the town square after conviction of crime where a gun was used. No wait for the appeals court or any of that horseshit; instead, put in am express lane for Saturdays at noon.

    To All,

As my friends here KNOW, I'm a bit more than "old fashioned" & I believe that Texas made a BAD MISTAKE when we stopped HANGING vicious murderers, rapists, kidnappers & child molesters in the county seat where the crime was committed.
(After ONE "run through" of the Texas & federal courts, I believe that "the next stop" for such obvious EVILDOERS should be the gallows & as quickly as "suitable arrangements" can be made with the local Sheriff, after the criminal's appeals are exhausted.)
