Registration worked out so well in Canada, that they abolished that law because no one was registering their stuff.

If Canadians reacted with that level of defiance, how do you think Americans will react?
90% will just relax and push back a little. America, by and large, has gone soft.

And immediately after Canada nixed theirs, the dipshits in the CA legislature picked it up and ran with it. Now the CA cabal is trying to take this nationwide.

Anyone that thinks an agenda for further gun control is about stopping criminals, or reduction in crime is either naive, or delusional. That simple.

Hitler pulled some of the same crap right before WW2 with the Jewish citizens of Germany. They didn't fight back or get armed. Between 6 to 10 million Jews were herded to the death and concentration camps, and many were brutally murdered.

When the Jewish people fled to Israel in the late 1940's, they said it would bever happen again. This is why the Israeli's are very militant about their freedom, and their rights.

We might all look back and history of the Jewish people and take a lesson from them.

    From WSJ, might be paywalled:

“But here’s the political gut punch. The bill explicitly bars states from cutting taxes. States “shall not use the funds,” the bill says, “to either directly or indirectly [our emphasis] offset a reduction in the net tax revenue” that results “from a change in law, regulation, or administrative interpretation during the covered period that reduces any tax (by providing for a reduction in a rate, a rebate, a deduction, a credit, or otherwise) or delays the imposition of any tax or tax increase.””

So basically here's some money you have to blow even if you don't need it.

I believe 60 votes needed is only if they filibuster.....GOA telling people to contact Joe Manchin and tell him to stand firm on the filibuster. We'll see how much backbone Sen Manchin has shortly.
Yes, which is why I posted it last night, but it didn’t get much response, mainly just those saying they have already given up and couldn’t be bothered to click a link.

The dems are at it again and this time they actually stand more than a 60% chance of passage of this law that will require background checks on almost all firearms transfers. If it passes, kiss private sales goodbye unless you care to violate the law. You can also kiss your C&R federal firearms license goodbye if you have one because it will become useless as transfers between C&R holders or individuals to C&R holders or dealers to C&R holders are not mentioned in the bill. You will have become a forgotten class of FFL holder if this law passes.

And to think, it will only get worse!

    States dont get a vote.

This will pass easily, 8 Republicans voted for it in the House.
Which brings us to one of the roots of the downfall our nation, the ratification in 1912 of the 17th amendment allowing for the direct election of senators. Prior to that the senators represented the State's interests, not the fickle manipulated masses.

The people already had a voice in the federal legislature. Once the states lost their voice in the operation of the federal government the states lost their sovereignty and the delicate balance of power that protected our republic began to teeter and fall.

I will go out on a limb here and state the next two years will be a flurry of what Ds want gets party-lined and signed into law. The only question is how far left it will go in the law.

You just saw it happen with the $1.9T COVID bill. Did you know there’s a provision in there that any state taking advantage of those funds can’t use any of it to offset tax revenue or all the funding will have to be repaid?

My guess is the strategy is to ram through as much as possible before the mid-terms recognizing that those have a high likelihood of the Senate flipping back to GOP control.

Get ready for a lot of surprises that get added into the mandatory bills as well.
And the House - I pray.

Shouldn’t have any effect since LTC holders don’t have to go through one.
It does have an effect. It's the end-around to ultimately register all firearms in America. This is a big deal. State laws can't nullify this. It'll end up like Marijuana as a State by State issue with the Feds choosing to swoop in and "enforce" the law as they see fit. And guns vs pot? Guess which one they'll give a shit about? Not all States have regulations "allowing" LTC holders to be exempt from the background checks. Plus - if my buddy Tim doesn't have a LTC, I can't straight up trade him a .38Spl for his lawn mower without a background check? Which is bullshit to begin with. WTH are you talking about, Man?! I'm not trying to be a dick here - seriously - I'm certain you're a very smart fellow. But do your doggone homework and be part of the solution. Where am I missing your meaning? I mean, it sounds like you're buying this garbage. Please let me know how I'm wrong.

I clicked and sent - Thanks,

But don't be misled. Manchin does not give a flying burrito about what I or you want him to do. Its the WV voters that need to do this job. He's a POS and will let America down in the end if they don't hold him accountable. I can only vote for TX Senators.
