Would you like it if someone put your name onto something you had nothing to do with? Meme or not you shouldn't do this to people who had nothing to do with the act. I bet he doesn't find it comical or ironic or entertaining. It is outright character assassination.

There's zero character assassination going on. People get meme'd all the time, most folks understand its not serious. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're over 55 - no slight in that - but generally the more seasoned crowd doesn't understand memes. Its no different than being mentioned in a stand up comic's routine.

I think Mr. Gaines would be more likely to see humor in it, than to get bent out of shape over it. And I *have* personally been meme'd myself before - its not life shattering, world ending, or a serious personal attack. Its a form of humor and unless your skin is paper thin, its nothing to even hurt one's feelings.

In today’s environment I’d feel different. People are being doxxed, private addresses and phone numbers being published, and several people even here in Texas have lost their jobs because of having been at the event.

    It's a meme about a celebrity. It's pretty obvious it's not him.

I shared this in another thread, but really it probably goes here:

Good read. Thank you for sharing. It puts into words much about what I have been thinking regarding this and the events of the past few years.

Why are you so offended by something so insignificant, that involves others? If you're Chip, say "I don't have a sense of humor and memes about me aren't funny". My time is much too valuable to be offended on someone else's behalf.

    To All,

Given the FACT that both BLM & ANTIFAS have been video taped stating that they were going to "show up at the rally in MAGA gear" & "infiltrate the rally" with LARGE NUMBERS OF their own members to make "the rightists LOOK BAD", WHAT exactly makes you believe that those are actual PATRIOTS, that are reportedly "causing trouble" in The Capitol building??

    yours, satx
FBI arrested a BLM instigator from Idaho who shot the video that we’ve all seen showing the young woman getting shot climbing through the window. If he was there, you can bet there were a lot more of them stirring up the crowd

    Wodon43,

An old friend of mine from my Army days, who is now with the USPP, says that there were at least 200 "infiltrators" at the rally.
(That's ALL that I know about that subject, as I was NOT present.)

    candcallen,

There is a GOOD REASON that BLM & ANTIFAS nearly all wear BLACK, WEAR HOODIES & COVER THEIR FACES. = To keep LEOs from knowing WHO they are.
(A large percentage of both FAR LEFT/FASCIST groups are "known to LE agencies", as they are COMMON CRIMINALS, as well as "protestors",& have been LOCKED UP for various FELONY CRIMES.)

FYI, THERE WERE AT LEAST 4 "GREYHOUND-TYPE" bus-loads of ANTIFAS & BLM at the TRUMP RALLY & WHO WERE "AGITATING" out in the crowd.
(NUMEROUS photos by TRUMP-FANS got photos of "the enemy".)

    Satx,

A fried of mine lives east of portland Or, and i also got aqquainted with a portland Leo and Er Dr.

Antifa has been running wild in portland since 2008. Yes, 2008.

(Hmmm, wonder what happened that year. ? )

By 2010 there was riots , looting, destruction of private and public property, & pot smoking bonfires downtown EVERY saturday night.

But the news would never report jack schitt when an illegitimate son of a $2 hoe from kenya was in charge.

Maybe a bit hyperbolic - it wasn't *every* saturday night, or even most until the George Floyd thing.

Portland does see regular rioting - anytime there's a police shooting they wanna fight with cops afterward. It really started with Occupy Wall Street and got progressively worse (the only true big about political 'progressives'!)

I can tell you with no uncertainty that while Portland is a shithole of a city, it *wasn't* that bad with riots until May of 2020 - the craziness was typically very occasional. I think with everything under lock down even the pot smoking hippies were getting stir crazy and their pressure valves blew - and when they saw the political "leaders" had no spine, they seized the opportunity to feel powerful.

Prior to May of 2020 - for the last few years Portland was more known, at least regionally, for the droves of homeless living on the sidewalks and in any bare spot of land - public or private - they could fit a tent on. Every year Oregon has a relay race known as the "Hood to Coast" - it starts on Mount Hood, runs down into the Portland area (usually along US Hwy 26 thru down town to US Hwy 30) then continues west along the Columbia River toward US Hwy 101 to Astoria and Seaside. A few years ago the geniuses who organized it decided to run the race thru along a trail called the Springwater Corridor.

The Springwater Corridor, they thought might have a few hundred homeless folk living along the trail - so they sent the police in to clear it out, because they didn't want international visitors (people come from all over the world for this stupid race) to see the real Portland. The cops weren't ready for what they found, neither was the city. They displaced not hundreds, but thousands - probably over 10,000 homeless people in their sweep of the park.

Those people being displaced from their out-of-sight, out-of-mind 'home' on the trail dispersed and soon you couldn't go downtown without seeing dozens of homeless people building tent-cities on the sidewalks. They took over. You couldn't go into many residential neighborhoods without seeing the same, especially those near major roads or highways.

Not long after the police did their sweep I was servicing a customer's vehicle in what could be considered a 'nicer' middle class neighborhood in Northeast Portland adjacent to Interstate 84. The neighborhood had one of those tall concrete sound barriers between the hwy and the homes. There was a narrow grass strip that belonged to the state, managed by DOT along the wall. On that strip and spilling into the road were dozens of ratty tents and the ground was littered with needles, used rubbers (at least some protection was being used, probably by Johns), garbage etc - right across the street from a park and a nicer apartment complex. The residents there I talked to were pissed at the city, pissed at the cops, and pissed that nothing was being done to address the issue.

And you can't say "you didn't hear about the rioting because the news wouldn't talk about it" - I had friends in law enforcement in the area too, and our own dispatchers and fleet of contractors and drivers would've put the word out to avoid the areas due to such goings-on.

You can't hide a riot if its a real riot, and fires like that would've likewise been shared - people would've been making videos of the incidents viral, and people who live / work in the area would talk. We knew when there were riots, when there were violent protests, when the idiots would try shutting down the freeways. Keep Portland Weird, right?

I mentioned his presence last week. John Sullivan who tweets as JaydenX. He was photographed wearing a Trump hat.
More video has surfaced and there were a lot of anti Trump folks there and they were pretty violent

It's not going to get reported.

The news just did a rundown on the various groups that were at the Capitol.

I have suspicions that there were either ANTIFA or BLM member in the crowd of Trump supporters, to possibly agitate a volatile event into a angry mob.

But that's not four bus loads as some are alleging to be there.

    Did not need four busloads.

I's more than just "not gonna get reported". If you watch the MSM outlets over the next few days, they are working hard on a narrative about far-right attacks nationwide around the inauguration. You can rest assured that "something" is going to happen, and you can count on how they will spin it. Look at the mileage they have gotten out of the capitol "insurrection". They still are "in horror" at the "mob violence from the right".
It's all a narrative, kind of like the Plandemic has been a narrative more than an actual "thing".
I think it may take some citizen grassroots journalism to break this ruse up.

You or I have no idea how many were there. We are relying on a small number of videos.

Every day I see more different videos showing me the rioting was larger and more violent than first imagined. The arrest of John Sullivan shows and organized anti-Trump presence inside the Capitol.

As always, we have a rush to judgement based on a minuscule of evidence. We now know the rioting was being planned in December, BLM leaders were there, etc. Really kills the Trump incited them narrative.

It only takes a handful. Look at the riots, vs what happened at the capitol. Masses of hateful, angry people bent on destruction VS masses of wronged, angry people wanting to be heard.

My point exactly. Several have alleged there were four bus loads of ANTIFA or BLM members at the Trump rally, and there was one picture posted of several buses, but no proof that they contained ANTIFA or the BLM.
Yeah, and it was clearly a TINY portion of the crowd that allegedly "breached" the capitol.

That is what I saw as well. From the pictures and videos I saw, there were a LOT of people at the rally, and a lot that marched to the Capitol. If that entire group had stormed the Capitol, there would have been way more damage them there was. The vast majority stayed outside the Capitol.

You are correct. I don't know how many there were there. I asserted previously as @cycleguy2300 pointed out, that it would not take four bus loads to cause trouble and to incite a riot. Trump supporters were already angry over the elections, and emotions were high that day. So my belief as stated, is a few could have done a lot of damage.

And I do believe that ANTIFA and BLM members were present and that proof is starting to surface. Which proves what I was thinking and suspected. As more information is being made available, my estimates of how many might have been incorrect.

I think many of us may have rushed to judgement. But my opinions were only based on available information at the time, and pure speculation and what I thought. But, it still doesn't excuse the actions of the Trump supporters that were inside the Capitol and took part in the criminal behavior in any way.
