Just wondering who keeps the boxes their firearms come in and why?

Do you discern between plastic or cardboard?

    Rifle or pistol?

If you lost them in a boating accident, do you still keep the boxes?

    Eotech or acog boxes?

I guess this question does not refer to ones you “plan” on reselling / collector’s items.

Where do you draw the line?

I have acquired the "affliction" of becoming a bit of a Colt collector, which has made me extremely aware of gun box and contents values. It gets kinda crazy! So I hang on to everything now, doesn't matter what brand or age.

I keep them for awhile, and like was mentioned previously, when I need space, I'll get rid of some to make room. I rarely every need or use them again.

All my new rifles came in cardboard, so those got thrown away. I do keep all of the plastic pistol cases the pistols came in when bought new. Some of them are actually quite nice.

I haven't seen a pistol in a cardboard box in decades.
