The dogs can always find 'carrion' when the city people come out to a rural area to loot?

I took home-ec in high school. Ag class was a waste of time. Most of the students were smarter than the teachers in Ag! Besides, girls were more appealing than boys to me! I had lots of fun in home-ec class!
I took home-ec too. A class full of girls and food. HELL YEAH!

While the ammo companies are cranking out all they can, this $1 billion claim is inflated. What I mean by that is during the last ammo shortage, almost every company, from Mom & Pop to ranges to big box stores inflated their "needs" hence padding their orders. If they only need 3k round a week for their range to operate under normal circumstances, they are putting in orders for 10x that in hopes of getting what they need. I guarantee if the ammo manufacturers were able to fill a lot of the orders they have on the books, most businesses would not take the amount on their order, mainly due to not enough working capital or not needing as much as they order. When I worked for a range, the owner put in an order for ammo totaling over 4 million dollars. He was hoping to get a fraction of that. In time the shortage will level off and everything will be back to normal :)
I agree with your observation. However, inflating the number that you order may yield results. Likewise, if you need 2000 rounds of 9mm, you order 2K rounds from every company that you have ordered from before, hoping that one of them will deliver part of that order. Today, receiving more that you need is a "happy problem" in that you can sell, at a high profit margin everything you can get.
At some point, assuming that the Dems do not get any change in the law, ammo will be available at prices "close" to the levels at the end of 2019. Now, when that will happen is more of a guess than any calculation based on fact. Factors such as the level of COVID infections, BLM mob actions, and ATF notices.
What I do not understand is that there exists gun owners that voted for Harris/Biden knowing that their vote contributed to such issues.

They buy guns because THEY are the one's that are going to be in charge and they need them to keep us in line.

The Biden/Harris voters also know what happened in Russia 1917 and it has NO EFFECT at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Venezuela is 'some third world country in South America'.

"Socialism can work, it's just that the right people haven't been in charge"!!!!
I guess it's like 'Native Americans are all happy on the reservations'.

Have you seen some of the Russian stuff SGAmmo is selling, Russians are pulling old cases which have corrosive primers, reloading and selling. SGAmmo is upfront about the corrosive stuff. Even the Russians can't get primers. Wonder how the terrorists are doing? They have any ammo left?

I go to 3 Academy's twice a week, usually. I don't go stand in line getting to the first store between 9:30-10:00. That had been working for me when they had large quantity packaging @ $100.00+ per package or at least can't swing the cost o 3 +100.00 packages. Seems a lot of the line standers can't afford that lump sum cost. When the packaging is 50-100 rounds I usually don't find any. And in the beginning it seemed a lot of folks were rejecting the steel casing. That seems to have changed quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. I went to 2 Academy's today. Nothing - at all in 9mm and most other high demand ammo. One had 500 round cases of 5.56 but I got nothing that'll shoot it. If I buy something that'll shoot it - it'll make the ammo disappear. Funny how it happens that'a way.

ETA: At the second Academy I did pick up 2 - 525 round boxes of LR coated hollow-points @ .055 a round including tax. That's about what I've been paying for it elsewhere as well.

    A LGS had 223 55 PMC in.

they wanted 25$ plus tax for 20 round boxes.

I passed, no fucking way. If it was 15 dollars I would have night 2 boxes.
Not a chance in hell am I going to pay that for generic 223, not even 556 m193.
I like that store, but that was horse shit and they know it.

It's unfortunate, but I think it's more than just supply and demand. What else was on his shelves to sell? Ammo is hard to get, firearms are hard to get, everything these stores typically sell is out of stock, so their sales volume has dropped to the floor because they don't have anything to sell.

But rent doesn't go down. The light bill, alarm bill, web hosting, phone bill, insurance, etc. don't go down either. Ask what their overall sales for the month was this month compared to a year ago and do the math. The bills didn't go away, just the supply of stuff he had to sell to pay the bills.

The only places I've seen that have anything in stock are selling at inflated prices, and they're still selling some.

Everything you said is true, I don’t blame a guy for making money. We all make money.

Just don’t bull-shit me, 1.25$ Before tax per round for standard non-milspec 223 meant for range blastin is completely insane.

this place had a lot of inventory. Gun shelves full, ammo supply better then anywhere else I have seen.

Probably the wrong place to bring this up but... who thinks Biden/Harris will not initiate a gun buyback program, but instead just limit the amount of ammo you can buy. It is a method already in place worldwide.
It also manages to bypass 2A since it is not a right to supply ammo
