My pop had a 75 Chevy Good Times van almost identical to this one, except it had mirrored windows in the side and was blue for the main color. I think all of us kids burned the crap out of ourselves at least once on the side pipes. The fun we had going camping and hauling the boat with that van, the good old days.

My uncle had a Ford F150 almost identical to this one. He had chrome wheels though.

My dad had one like this. That van was fun and we had a lot of memories of road trips. They rear window had a bottom screen that slid open so you could stick your hand out. On cold winter days, me and my cousins used to see who could hold their hand out the longest.

I drove these as a part-time job while I was in High Screwl:

There was a lot in Covina Calif that specialized in Corvettes, Mr T's. He also had a lot in Long Beach Calif and from time to time would need to move his inventory between the two. My job was to recruit a bunch of students willing to drive cheap, $3/trip (tho we would have paid him), and do the drive. Anywhere from 3 kids to 10. We would get across 3 lanes of freeway, slow to 25mph, then light it up and speed away.

The above is a 1967, not sure if it is 327 or 427. Both were awesome!!!

If it's factory, that's a 427 based on the "stinger" hood scoop it has.

The 1963 to 1967 Corvettes are my favorite body style of all the Corvettes.

Yep, lol, I think everyone did that as a kid. The Chevy had those rear windows that would tilt open with the latch. We would throw out plastic army men and other stuff as we went down the road. We would camp out at Grapevine lake and Lake Tawakoni and then take the boat out for fishing in the morning. Seemed like my father and uncle always cooked up some good food on the Coleman stove. Those were fun times.

    Aha!

    Agreed about the Corvette models!!!

BTW, by this time of day, after using my reading glasses for 4hrs, I can't see any detail and can barely read. Gotta get me head out of the laptop before I go pickup Thanksgiving Lunch at the Senior Center.

    Ah, so it does.

I had to put it in full screen and still could barely read it... still might not have known what it said had you not posted.

Tomorrow I will be grateful for those Geezers that still have youthful eyes!!!

That hood would fit a lot of Corvettes, and people did put then on Corvettes that didn't come with a big block.

Oh Yes! There is a huge difference between a 327 and a 427 when it comes to horsepower!

But even that, the small block Corvettes of the 1960's were not slouches in the power department either.

That low throaty sound of a 427 triggers my erection gallows!!!

Holy moly!!! ... I just looked it up and the 327 Corvette had 250hp (our good friend Joyce has one in her vintage Camaro. She ordered it that way. Not many were built like that.), and the 427 has 400hp!!!!!!! :usflag:

One of the shops I managed many years ago, we did part of the restoration of the body and paint on a 1960 Corvette. That was a sweet looking car! It had been repainted many, many times during it's life. The new owner wanted it back to the original red and white paint job. We spent about six months stripping it back to the fiberglass, primer, blocking, sanding and painting it. Every bit of chrome was replaced with brand new, except for the bumpers which we sent out to be rechromed.
