It’s been a long two weeks. I’m happy just sitting in a chair with beer.

Well get outside. The fresh air will do you some good!

    Of course beer works too!
They have a camp out back. All wooded.

I have and have eaten a lot of MH in #10s. You will probably eat an opened can before it goes bad. The serving size is small, I double it. I keep several open at a time. Its really like having several TV dinners in the freezer without the freezer and better for you.

I've got a pretty good stock of Mountain House. Haven't tried any of the entrees, but the sliced strawberrys and sliced apples are not bad. Also have some Peak powdered whole milk and Ova Easy powdered eggs. The Yoder's canned bacon is pretty decent.

I wonder if the can could be opened and used then repackaging the rest of the contents using a vacuum sealer?
Sure, that would work. But I would expect the shelf life to be greatly reduced. You could probably extend the storage time by adding oxygen absorbers to the bag before vacuum sealing it. Not those silica gel packs, but actual oxygen absorbers.

How long does the repacked meals last? I’m trying to make some individual meals for a week long camping trip for a group.

Repacked meals last for months providing you use the O2 absorbers. The conditions outdoors will be more humid than indoors. I have several #10 cans that have been open for +/- a year and all is fine.
