No. College Station is pretty flat
I went for a week to Jacksonville, FLA and thought it would be flat. Well, the group ride I attended started at "sea level" but immediately climbed the steepest on-ramp I've ever seen to reach the main road!!! No fair putting giant hills at the BEGINNING of a long ride!!!
Flat rides can be tougher with no chance to cruise or challenge of a climb to break things up.
On the other hand, minus any wind influence, it can be easier to track your progress on flatter terrain. Keep up the good work!!

Roughly a year ago I began riding a bike daily for work. I had not regularly ridden since before getting my drivers license 20+ years ago.

I typically ride 20-30 miles a shift, at a slower steady pace but with occasional high speed bursts to get places fast.

To combat saddle soreness and chaffing, I’ve learned a good seat and quality padded bike liner shorts are a must. I use a planet bike ARS men’s bike seat as pictured and recently got carbon series liners from Zoic...those two combined and I’m still good to go after a 12 hour shift.

Social media policy prevents me from saying, and while a fun job, the politics and pay are not worth it.

*edit* guess I could have said it is a security gig.

No lightning but light to medium rain. Time would have been better if I hadn’t wrecked , lol. No damage to bike or me but I sat there stunned for a few minutes and another few checking out the bike.

Rode Friday and Saturday ( 16 on Friday and 7 on Saturday as I got called into work at 0300 and had to cut the ride short.)
Took the bike in on Sunday and had a couple of broken spokes fixed, new rear gear cassette and an upgraded chain put on( been going through chains about every 300 miles)
This morning’s ride through campus and surrounding neighborhoods
