Why did we treat Covid19 different than the flu? Both are communicable diseases. More people seem to die every year from the flu. Covid19 deaths haven't even reached the levels of yearly deaths of the regular flu.

I believe the simple answer is, Covid19 is, and was a real health threat, but a chance to politicize and weaponize a situation for a political agenda.

I think the facts bear this out. Personally, I think the there was mass destruction of our economy to further a political agenda, and people's lives were disrupted for no reason that makes any sense to anyone with any common sense.

    That place east of Waco....
Agree. But I will vote for any viable candidate opposing Abbott in the Republican primary.
Same.....and, if Abbott wins the GOP Primary, I will not vote for him. I won't vote for the Democratic candidate either....mostly because there wouldn't be much difference b/t the Dem and Abbott at this point.

If there's a third-party candidate that will follow the US and Texas Constitutions, I'll vote for that candidate. If not, I just won't vote for governor. I'm not playing the "lesser of two evils" game anymore....

Your choice. But refusing to vote for a republican is essentially a vote for a democrat so when the next gun legislation comes up that we all want to see pass......
I voted for Perot. Clinton ended up president. You may feel better in the ballot box knowing you voted your heart, but not your brain.

I'm not sure where you get that information from but here is what I found on the topic.

Flu deaths last year were 80,000 and the worst ever in history. Range is normally from 12,000 to 56,000 before that. And those numbers are for a full year.

Chinese virus has already killed over 150,000 in USA in about 4 months time and with huge mitigation efforts.

So, I just wonder where you get the numbers that say flu is worse than the Chinese virus.

I agree with you to a point but with Texas turning blue, is not voting for governor truly the answer that conservatives should make during the coming elections?

And you believe those numbers? It's already been proven too many times that deaths that were not related to Covid19 were still being listed as attributed to Covid19 as cause of death. Those number of deaths IMO are false.

Feel free to believe whatever you want. I don't.

And also, look at where all the doom and gloom crowd were predicting the number of deaths to be. In the millions! Never happened, and so they had to manufacture the numbers and inflate them to try and reach those predictions and still they couldn't.

IF there is a viable Republican and conservative candidate that I think can oppose Abbott, that MIGHT be the direction I will go. But if not, sad to say, I will probably vote for Abbott again.

What rock have you been under for the last three months?

Protesters can riot and loot, but they never get Covid19? Huge push by the Democrats for mail-in ballots? People are allowed to go to casinos and gamble, but are prohibited from attending church to worship?

I could go on and on, but not going to.

Trust me, I am one of the last persons to believe in conspiracy theories.

Honestly, I believe very little about the number of Covid19 deaths that are published. So many lies have been told to the American public, it's very difficult to believe much anymore.

Open your eyes and look around. Question everything that's being reported about Covid19 for yourself.

Did you happen to hear that sound bite of Jim Jordan asking Dr Fauci about this? Hilarious. He basically asked him if it was a concern for spread that protestors were gathering in mass, no masks, no distancing. Fauci hemmed and hawed and the best he could come up with was "I am not qualified to make such a judgment". He sure feels qualified everywhere else!

Just want to know what "facts" you have that Covid-19 is all a political thing and not a health risk-pandemic. There is no doubt that politics comes into everything- never let a disaster go to waste, but facts???

I saw that last night on the TV at the restaurant, but the sound was down, so I couldn't hear what was being said. I plan on pulling up some videos later to day to see exactly what was said though.

Personally, all of the numbers should be questioned. All deaths that were suspected to be due to The China virus should be investigated by autopsy for verification. There is big amounts of taxpayer money being passed around for diagnosed cases of COVID. I believe that is why Cuomo put confirmed cases in with vulnerable populations in the old folks homes.

Rotor, I have stated many times that Covid19 was a serious health risk, and people have died from it. But that doesn't change the facts of it being used as weapon to further a political agenda.

Look at the news and figure it out for yourself. I'm not going to try and tell you what or what not to believe, but I can see for myself what is going on around me.

In my own county, There have been only a little over 60 confirmed Covid19 cases. Very few were even admitted to the hospital. There are no confirmed cases due to Covid19 in our county as of yet.

Would you lock down our county and disrupt people's lives and their ability to work to feed their families? Seems some counties are doing exactly that.
