I agree as I'm tired of wading through a sea of trinkets, knick-knacks and what-nots just to find retail stores.

Went from attending 1 or 2 shows a month to years between shows.

I did go to the gun show in Waxahachie before pandemic and was pleasantly surprised at the ratio of firearm related and non and the number of firearm retailers and private sellers. Prices were reasonable at the privateers tables and folks were friendly.

I took a couple pistols looking to sell or trade and no one seemed interested as inventory was very high.

The last gun shows I went to were at the convention center in Palestine. Because they rented their chairs and tables from our company for the venue, we got some free tickets. Door admission was $10 to just get in. No way I would have went if I had to pay. A co-worker and I went and we stayed about 20 minutes and left. There were barely any guns there, and the few were way over-priced.

The last sort of larger gun show the wife and I attended, was over in Tyler. Lots of guns, but way over-priced. We were shopping for another pistol for my wife, and I was looking for a Mauser action for a project.

I made the trek to the Rose Garden show several years ago. Oddly laid out venue, but you have to adapt.

Saw a pair of really nice Colt 1911s with that distinctive Colt bluing and an Anaconda. All over-priced, but snake guns don't pop up very often.

I went to the one in Ft. Worth today. Picked up some Pmags at a decent price, but every gun there was over MSRP, and the ammo was triple the normal price (not exaggerating)

I’d rather drag my balls through 100 yards of broken glass than to go to a gun show right now.

100% neckbearding on new gun owners that can’t find ammo, guns, etc. Is all you are going to find. That and folks that did not prepare, or communists( democrats)that have purchased , or are trying to purchase their first gun and ammo.

While I am sure some folks would not agree with me, I think you never know what you might see at a gun show as far as good deals go. I always hold that hope anyway. There were some really good prices at the last Murphy's show I attended, in Texarkana, I know because I was one of few vendors with good prices on some personal sales I made. I sold quite a few things including some guns, a bunch of ammo, mags & some accessories. I was happy and the folks who bought from me were happy because my goods were nice and also were priced right. I hope to attend the coming show in Texarkana, AR and have a table again if any are available and see what I can conjure up:stir:.

Is the SAXET show in San Antonio going this weekend?
I'm wondering if anyone went today?
Yes. I went to the San Antonio SAXET show today. It was nice finally being able to go to one. The vendors was typical and so was the crowd... except for the facemasks and the insanely high prices.

Yes sir, Dallas Arms Collectors will have their shows at South Fork ranch now instead of Market Hall - August 8 & 9. They are advertising all 400 tables - back when Market Hall was a good show, they had 1,800 tables. Even with just 400 tables, I'm sure there will still be plenty of non gun related crap and the same overpriced stuff that has made the rounds the last 15 years.
