I used to change my oil at home, and rotate the tires while waiting for the oil to drain. I hated having trying to get to the oil filter. Then once while removing the left front wheel, I noticed a flap on the inside of the wheel well. I raised the flap, and there was the effin' oil filter, right in front of me ready to unscrew straight out.

Had to work on a 1981 chevette. Not only was the OF inaccessible, every piece of sheet metal had jagged edges. No deburring anywhere. Afterwards I looked like I’d been sorting wildcats.

I had a Toyota Tacoma that had the flap behind the left front tire. Long reach but accessible.

Buddy had one and the thin rubber timing belt was somewhat protected by a loose plastic cover. Driving down a gravel road, a rock flew up and broke the timing belt. What a mess!
