Don’t think posting phone numbers would be a good idea.

Before you take action, make sure there was not a good reason. He knows nothing about where I'm from, he got no personal details about me whatsoever (except my number) - so I don't see how it's about getting me out of the house.
I'm just so extremely weirded out by the illogical aspect of it all, he doesn't know me so I don't understand what kind of satisfaction will he receive from stealing 4h of my time. He got no money out of it, nothing.
Someone mentioned outing him - Can I publish his name / number to avoid any other tgt members from getting scammed? I do not wish to break any forum rules.
Also, how can I reduce the probability this happening in the future? I thought perhaps always to call the person beforehand (we just emailed/texted), but I don't want people to think I'm weird or something. I also have a foreign accent, but I guess that if someone doesn't want to meet me because of that we shouldn't meet in the first place..
Good call.
Maybe posting the number with the last two digits removed would be enough for another member to message the OP to confirm it's the same number to avoid a similar situation.
FYI....If you are looking for a used Glock, GT Distributors in Austin has plenty of police trade-ins that are in great condition. They're decently priced and you can inspect them before purchase. Furthermore, you won't have to waste time on all the fickle bitches out there. So far I haven't had an issue with anyone I've dealt with through TGTrader (I just roll my eyes at the obvious idiots and scroll on). I always look over all the "scam alerts" when they are posted so I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would appreciate the heads up on this particular incident. It would also give the guy a chance to explain himself if he happens to see your post.
Maybe that is true - that MOST people see a scam for being a scam; however, there are plenty of folks out there who do not recognize scams as being scams and thus scammers make money and the scammed lose it regularly. It is true is that there is a sucker born every minute and that scammers never give a sucker an even break (regardless of who first said either, they are spot on). Most people are smart enough to recognize a scam when they see it.
I'm not looking for revenge of any sort, my point is mostly around ensuring other forum members won't get scammed as well.
his number is 210-95245xx , email is kstanforth<xx>@gmail.com
Regarding "something we read online", I have no skin in this game, I posted the entire correspondence, and I was the one who didn't want to share his personal information to begin with - so with all of these inputs in mind, I hope you can see it doesn't make a ton of sense that I'm making this weird story up... (I wish)
Wait a second, now what am I supposed to do with all these torches?
Same thing for me. We arranged meeting at safe place (sheriff office) and he was no show even though he said he was police.
