I never ride more than an hour at a time as to not hurt my other training but I like riding about 15 miles total a week

It's good calories burn, and helps my knees without hurting my ankles like running does

What firearm/holster do you guys carry?
I sometimes have my chest rig and G19

21 miles today. Longest continuous ride in a quarter of a century. I am pretty happy with my time on this sprint.

Winter really needs to end up here, lol. 40 degrees and windy. Naturally the wind was in my face on the uphill side.

Bought a road/mountain hybrid bike on Friday. Bought it new( one year free tune ups from Galaxy Bicycles in San Marcos, Texas) Giant “Roam” XL frame.
My goal was to do 75+ miles a week.
I’ll get there, but not this week, lol.

Have to take it in for new bike tune up next week and I was hoping to get a bunch of miles on it to break some stuff in. Total miles since Friday afternoon, 15, ha.
I’ll get there. Just won’t be as quick as I thought.

Although owning bikes for many years, I really didn't ride much at all between leaving Houston in 1981 and returning in 2005. So at age 65, I resumed riding. Very carefully at first. I have some advice from my present age of 77: Make sure bike is adjusted properly for your size. Buy the expensive tires for fewer flats. Don't do too much at first, take it easy. Get a BIG comfortable saddle. Have plenty lights & wear safety vest & helmet EVERY ride. Find shady routes. Expect motorists to do stupid things. Remember to carry on your person. I freeze about 1/4 of a plastic water bottle, then fill with ice cold water & place in Koozie for 1 or 1-1/2 hours cold water; better than the expensive water bottles. (YETI is anti 2A!)
Like with boating, tell someone where you plan to go and time to expect you back. leVieux

Ok, after a month in an O2 deprived environment I went for a ride yesterday at the Veloway yesterday and made my best 10.6 mile ride yet.

Did 2 rides this morning, about 10.2 at the Veloway and about 8.6 on the 45 bike trail. Having ambient oxygen makes a huge difference and I must say, being drenched in sweat after a ride is a novel experience.
