I am sure HK will say the hospital closings are to get ready for the fourth third wave or some other scare tactic.

If we close the hospitals and lay the people off then we will have them pre-cleaned and the staff not sick for when it gets really bad..... soon......

I'm not going to put the idiot on ignore, simply because I might miss something even more ridiculous than the last thing he said.

I'm curious as to what invented doom and gloom he will fabricate to explain this turn of events, to support his predictions.

    Ought to be interesting!

Give it a bit, he’s not all gloom and doom; and he’s a bit of a womanizer, too. He is/was infatuated with AOC.

I posted this in the mask thread, but I think it’s worth reposting here.

Hands to face is how this thing is spread.

Being in close proximity to someone infected, not so much unless you spend a lot of time close to them.

So not as easily transmitted as initially thought.

I don’t often ask folks to watch a 10 minute vid, but in this case I think it’s worth your time.

I have posted this kind of message time and time again based on my 20 years of setting up infection control programs in healthcare and higher education. But, people do not want to hear the facts as long as CBS, CNN, MSNBC and the other fear mongers keep screaming airborne transmission.

Yesterday I responded to someone using a CDC report that quoted a test that took air samples in the vicinity of infected patients. I pointed out the use if “may, could, possibly” and other indefinite words in the report and received ANTIFA like responses because I downplayed airborne transmission.

I am done trying to help people understand because they don’t want to.

My last suggestion is for folks to visit the Mayo Clinic website and read what they say about COVID 19 protection. Yep, no mention of social distancing, face masks, etc. They say wash your hands and use sanitizer. Of course, the Mayo Clinic is one of the few top flight medical organizations that do not receive hundreds of millions of Federal grant funds in order to keep their doors open

This is an interesting article about new findings with the virus.

gdr_11 please comment, I'm interested in your opinion.

My focus has been on minimizing transmission (nosocomial infections) rather than the treatment after the fact, so I am not qualified to comment on the mechanics of how the virus impacts the body or the efficacy of any treatments.

One of the realities that many cant grasp is that physicians and their medical scientific colleagues often have little background in prevention because their education, training and practices focus on treatment and not prevention. A good analogy is that doctors want to advise patients on nutrition based on the outcomes of poor eating habits. In reality, most have minimal nutrition education in medical school and only a few invest precious time in advanced nutrition education after graduation. A nutritionist or other para health professional is much more qualified on this subject than any doctor, including the Surgeon General.

Infectious control programs in hospitals are seldom, if ever, headed up by doctors because the reality of how bacteria and viruses move from one person to another is outside the parameters of medicine. This leads to organizations like the CDC issuing control recommendations that may not be the best methods for control. An example if this is that, across the country, institutions have blood borne pathogen kits to clean up body fluids with a sodium hypochlorite (bleach) solution rather than a broad spectrum disinfectant-detergent which would be more effective and far less hazardous.

So, I limit my comments to what I know and refrain from commenting outside of that. Medical professionals, however, are quick to offer opinions which is why we see all of the contradictory and ever changing flow of information.

All I have tried to do is to advise people how to stay safe in the face of all of the fear mongering
