    That place east of Waco....
I give this stay at home thing one more week. If numbers of deaths don't dramatically spike, I think people are going to say F-IT! Sorry to say, but it is going to be the number of deaths, not number of cases that keep people home. More and more people are going to realize that China and its puppet, the WHO, have screwed us and our economy.
Sorry for the rant. Been in the house with the wife and boy for 3 weeks now (other then walks and the occasional trip to the grocery store) and I'm starting to go bananas :banana::banana:
And I'd bet few LEOs will try to enforce the SIP.....either due to fear of infection or fear of significant resistance from the violators.

The LEOs that do try to enforce the SIP....their lives are likely to get more.....interesting.....

Trained as a scientist. That statement brings out the cynic in me. "scientist" in 1979 or '80 were saying that North Texas would be covered in a two foot thick sheet of ice by 2002. Predictions by scientists are based on models. I am prone to believe the information used for these models tends to be biased according to desired results.

    And they were right!

So,,,,basically you are trying to say we should bow to your superior intellect since you say you were trained as a scientist?
Despite all sciences blatant disregard for the facts? Why the hell would we do that?
Science admits it has no idea how many people are really infected. Without that, ANY prediction by anyone is total bullshit. Just a wild ass guess.
As far as the malaria drugs, WTH??
Because science can't prove it works? Well they can't prove it doesn't either. But practical experience says it appears to help and at least it does not harm. As long as it does not hurt and helps any patients survive, why not.
How about if it is the life of your loved one on the line? Are you willing to let them die to sooth the pride of science?
I am educated as well believe it or not. And there are times when science has no answer and must use logic to solve a problem. There are times when logic absolutely trumps science. After all, without logic, there is no science. Science is supposed to be logical.
There are people, not just countries, dieing. They don't have time for your pride.
If it helps at all and causes no harm, why the hell not? As you liberals, yes you are one, like to say,,,,if it saves just one life.........

Just an observation but you may be getting almost as wordy as the one I blocked you are replying to.

    Hey!
I was stepping aside of the fray until you brought it up.

    https://public-cdn.sermo.com/covid1...ve-i-sermo-covid-19-global-analysis-final.pdf

There is the actual Sermo survey.
It has a massive amount of speculative opinion and no clinical data.

I do believe that the last two posts I've made clearly stated that a lot of docs are using it out of desperation and are hoping that they, eventually, are to be presented with some evidence based data to support it's efficacy.

The two pulmonologist intensivists I know well readily admit they have scant data other than anecdotes.
I believe there is one study out of Wuhan China that reported on 15 patients treated vs. 16 in the control group with what seemed to be encouraging, though not statistical significant benefit given the tiny cohort sizes.
Let us hope and pray it offers some benefit.

I can find no well done controlled studies in the western literature to date.
The honest and trustworthy physicians have never been know to say "we don't know" so many times in rapid succession as they are doing now.

And, yes, fake news gives me hives.
Like the unfounded nonsense last week about Motrin/ibuprofen being bad for covid patients.
Hydrochloroquin may or may not do anything. I sure hope it does.
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/af...ine-media-acknowleges-might-treat-coronavirus
After mocking Trump for promoting hydroxychloroquine, journalists acknowledge it might treat coronavirus

I don't give a sh!t whether you stay at home or not. Just stay the fu@k away from me and mine. Play stupid games; win stupid prizes. We'll pray for you, hope the best for you, and grieve for those who lose the bet. We can argue about the severity but not the reality of the situation.

Many times the research and data collected are to prove what the "scientist" felt the outcome should be.

And pray tell, what is the reality?

Did you stay at home and isolate during previous flu outbreaks?

Do you stay off the roads and out of vehicles? After all, 40,000 a year die in auto accidents.

Get a grip and get some perspective. This ain't the black plague.

If you are that frightened, stay home and seal the doors and windows while the rest of us get on with our lives.

Now now, you know we can't let people have any freedom. They need to do what the government says, no matter how little risk they pose to other people.

Didn't say that. Not even close. Reading comprehension fades in the face of righteous indignation. In fact, I said the opposite. Do what you will.

Lack of information is not absolution. There is a risk. not understanding the risk is no excuse for dismissing it. I am choosing to be prudent.

There are too many risks to count. Every day.

Have to look at probabilities and keep things in perspective.
