I used to drink 2 or more quarts of Dr Pepper every day, back in the early 80s.
At 10, 2, and 4, huh. I hear it kept ya’ regular, so to speak.

That's too bad that you had such a bad experience with folks who were drunks. I try to avoid habitual drunks myself, as I said, too many were in my family. I have to wonder though, why would working in a bier garten ruin your taste for wine and bier, would that have been the same with rib eye, fillet mignon or sirloin had you worked in a steakhouse?
My wife often made her own sauer kraut and her own rote kraut. Both were delicious.
Wow, me and my comparisons! Sorry to hear that, hope you are all better.October can be very hot & humid, add in spilled wine & beers & it starts smelling like Bourbon Street minus the piss & puke. For the 22 years I did the beer garden my back was going to hell. Nothing like 14 hours in of an 18 hour day some drunks tells you to smile.
As far as your meat comparison I cut meat for 37 years. I eat very little beef. That came about after doctors figured a bone splinter had poke a hole in my intestines. After 5 day of crazy pain they gutted me & inspected my intestines. For about 3 years after that I did not eat any meat.

I knew a guy, who worked with me in the Customs Service, who had what they figured was a chicken or pork bone splinter stuck in his intestines, had a terrible infection, probably lost 25 to 30% of his body weight when ill. They operated and took out at least a couple of feet of his guts. Wound up okay though.
