Sure sounds like secret pricing if you're not sharing the source of that ammo at that price. Now that could be kind of, sort of, almost due to panic buying - that is you not wanting others to know your source!
LAXAmmo is one I saw.

Sportsman Guide, 1000 round of 9mm for 170.99 shippedDespite what we've heard, there ARE deals out there. I got two separate emails today featuring 9mm in 1000 rd case for 189.99 (shipped for at least one of them). That doesn't sound like "panic pricing" to me...

Hey, a run on ammo makes more sense than a run on TP
Dammit, reload components won't be far behind.
Whistler,
Fwiw, I suggest that you start casting your own bullets. = Cast bullet reloads are REALLY cheap & work quite well for target shooting, hunting & self-defense.
(For example a 310 grain .368 caliber cast bullet at 2000FPS will stop most any critter, short of a T-Rex.)
I currently/generally cast .308, .368 rifle & 9mm pistol bullets, as I've "winnowed down" my collection to 9.3x62 (cases made from .30-06), 5 different sorts of .30 caliber chamberings & lots of 9x19mm pistol ammo. = Other than that, I have a considerable amount of "other calibers" that I don't load for, as they are mostly collectables & no more than I shoot them, I have plenty of ammo for each caliber..
Note: 5.56NATO ammo is so cheap these days that I don't bother loading it.
