Well, I wouldn't want to try OCing INSIDE any HEB, as they got on Walmart's, Kroger's, Albertson's (etc.) "requesting no one OC here anymore" bandwagon also.

I wouldn't open carry (or concealed carry) in any place that did not allow one or both of those. My point was that HEB has shown no problems with open carry directly outside the physical stores and their employees are also cool with the concept.

Out of curiosity, what places have you heard about having an issue with open carrying directly outside, or in their parking lot?

Schools, Post Office, some Hospitals seem to have troubles with carrying open, concealed or locked away in a safe while on their property.

But my point was that HEB seems to be very reasonable in their policies.

Sorry, I thought we were talking along the lines of regular businesses.
I'm well aware of post office issues, never seen anything in hospital parking lots though.

We have very few places that prohibit any type carry, and the few that do restrict it, usually prohibit open carry, but not concealed.

You also have to look at each place individually, as a company. Some are companies with stores or locations in many different states, with varied gun laws across those states. So many times their company policies are broad, and not necessarily specific to a particular state and their specific gun laws.

The business where my wife works part time, displays a 30.07 sign. I prefer and carry concealed in public places, but even if I open carried, that policy isn't cause for my concern, nor would I think about boycotting them.

It's still private property. Their house, their rules. My house, my rules. It's that simple IMO.

I was told once, in Louisiana, that I'd be arrested by an "office deputy". I told him that it was not, and never had been illegal in LA, he stated that he'd arrest me, anyway.
I grew up in Louisiana and that was basically my experience, too. I can't recall ever seeing someone open carrying. It would have just been an invitation to get hassled. I think things have gotten much better.

I don't see people open carrying in Austin, but see it pretty often in the burbs. It doesn't seem like anyone notices, or if they do they ignore it.

I only open carry around you lot.

Although I open carry most times, I will still go to businesses that post only 30.07 signs, it doesn't take much to pull my shirt out to cover the gun. I don't like their reasoning, policy should never be based on feelings since many have very thin skins, but I will still abide by their policy.

Worse. Their rent a cops ( hired by Simon) will verbally tell you to GTFO and hand you a gun buster card with the verbiage on it.
Strange, I've OC'ed several times at the Midland Park Mall parking lot, and never got accosted.

And that was in the parking lot? Just curious, because I believe it has to be posted at the entrance to the parking lot and not just at the Mall entrance if that is the case.
