But it’s a bullshit scheme by the government that has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with lobbying by tobacco companies and media pushing a BS scare campaign so all the soccer moms will watch and cry in their pillows wondering if their kid might try a deadly vape pen instead of getting drunk, smoking weed, and knocking up their girlfriend/getting knocked up by boyfriend before rolling a $40,000 car in the ditch on the way home like a normal spoilt brat who’s parents don’t really pay attention to anything that’s actually happening.

    QFT.

I started nearly 10 years ago trying all kinds of different flavors like watermelon, peach, strawberry, cola, etc. Realized that tobacco flavor was the only one I could stand for an all day vape. Finally, for the first time in 40 years, I had found a way to quit smoking. No way I want to go back to cigarettes, heh, I couldn't afford it now.

I don't know what will actually happen on the 11th of May this year, but I have stocked up on supplies that will last me well beyond that date, just in case. I figure I'm good for 4 years.

I was spending more than $150/week on cigarettes. Now I spend $20 every couple weeks.

Tried the lozenge things, patches, chantix, etc and couldn’t kick the habit. I’ve talked with several doctors about vaping and always got the same answer that it’s not good, but it’s not even comparable to cigarettes when it comes to health risks.

For now, I’m trusting the people I’ve dealt with for the last few years to know what they’re talking about when they tell me they have things covered. But overall the entire premise of this new regulation is total BS.

Yep. I tried most of those things too, including cold turkey. Several times. I was going through a carton every 5 days or so. @ $60 per carton, I figure about $360 a month. That was 10 years ago. No idea what a carton costs now. Now I use 120 ml of nic juice a month which costs me about $31.25 with shipping. I buy everything online. Have never set foot in a local store.

Doctor says my lungs are clear.

This is the vaping equivalent to an AWB and magazine capacity ban. No basis for it. Feelings and fear generated by the media and some well funded antis.

It's more like the bumpstock ban because the President himself is or has pushed for it.

I hope that soon enough different people will feel the pain of government regulation to join gun people in telling the gov to get lost.

It was all fun & games when it was just the gun weirdos. Now it's vaping, tobacco in general, large sodas, plastic straws, plastics bags, & hurt feelings.

The flavorpocolypse seems to have been limited to self contained systems like the Juul being sold with flavored cartridges. Worth noting, Juul runs 50mg nicotine where most shops won’t sell a mix greater than 24mg.
Any chance you could easily link that?

Bozz - Thanks for the update and the forum link. According to the calculator within that link, I need to get quite a bit more nicotine. Just in case, and such.

Dad Roman - I'm unable to link it but, from the various shops I've been in, in different states, the highest nic value available in e-juice I've seen is 24mg. Not including pod devices and refills.

There are still online stores that sell 36mg e-juice. You can also buy 100% nicotine juice to mix your own, but that's not something you will find in the average local store or online vape shop.

I remember when a carton of cigarettes was $2.20 in the base commissary store. Have not used nicotine since the mid 70's but I believe the addiction is stronger than any other medication. Just a belief. I have no problem with adults vaping, I fear it is a gateway to addict minors and that has proven true. Big tobacco strikes again. We fear the government but here it is big business. Money talks.

Yeah, I remember $3.25 a cartoon in the PX. Last I heard, they have banned the sale of vape products but still sell cigarettes.

I was lucky that Chantix worked for me and after a 44 year addiction that reached 2 packs a day.....I haven't smoked or even had a desire in the last 12 years...
Doesn't even bother me to be around it

That makes SO much sense. Ban the thing that can save your life.
I attempted vaping several years ago, hacked my fuggin head off with a good device & legit juice.

I try my best telling new (young) smokers to quit before it's an addition.
Think of the car / house etc. payments gone up in smoke.

    Good for you, man!

I won't dawg others who smoke but I can't stand the stench so I smoke o/s or in bad weather, at an exhaust fan.

That's awesome! What physical improvements have you noted?
I had a work related lung Xray last week, much to my surprise it was 'clear'.
Last time I was looked over that well was in the hospital when I had heart surgery. I was told that I did have some damage from smoking. Yet the heart surgeon was shocked that I had been a smoker because my lungs were so clear.

It turns out that the number one cause of death in heart surgery is pneumonia afterwards. So the fact that my lungs were no longer filled with tar from smoking probably saved my life.

And, of course, I no longer cough.
