Where in DFW is a good place to find a large assortment of springs? I have this set up on my powder dispenser on my press but it’s not pulling the drum back down like it should. I need a shorter/stronger spring like this:

That is either a Hornady dispenser set up or a clone of it. Hornady will have the spring and will probably send it to you for free.

It probably isn't a spring issue though. Use some dry graphite lubricant on the drum of the dispenser and the tube that slides inside the other tube. More or less all the parts that rub together.

The dispenser should come back down without the spring. The spring is just a back up system to help fight friction. When the friction gets too great even the spring isn't enough.

Clean and lube it and I bet it works properly again.

I want to add that your spring appears to compress when it is off the dispenser. That really makes me think it is a friction issue.

Even writing on all the moving parts with a pencil (easy source of graphite) or piece of chalk will work.

The key is using something dry. A wet lube will contaminate your powder and just make a mess of things. Been there, done that.

Everything there except the powder measure is brand new. My cylinder has always been a little stiff in the powder measure. I’ve tried to get very fine sandpaper to polish the contact points.

    May try the graphite first.

Darn, you are so neat. Harbor Freight sells an assortment, sometimes the quality is okay.

Yes and the RCBS dispenser fits on the Hornady linkage. I have done it.

I just wasn't sure if he knew it was Hornady parts or a clone of them anyways.

The linkage is the Hornady kit. Compatible with RCBS.

RCBS also makes a kit, they look pretty much identical. Not sure who came first.
