Ok I’ve been loading quite a while and loaded a new cartridge the other day. 7mmBR. resized some once fired factory brass and didn’t have the gun on hand to test fit. Proceeded to load ten rounds. Bolt is tightly snug on closing. Broke down ammo checked the trim and decided to re set the die and start all over. Did one case and still no bueno. Ok I don’t have a neck trimmer so I used a makeshift one on the single case. Again no bueno. Factory ammo works fine everything seems to mic within specs. Polished a case and gave that a try actually seems a bit better hmmmm.
Made sure the port hole on die was clear and open.
Cleaned die and tried another case.
I have had this on a case of different calibers here and there before but just a trim or resize always cured it.
    Any advise??????

Shoulder depth right? Run it through a sizer again? Or, measure it and compare with the saami specs.
All seems good with my mic and my eyes. I ran one case though the sizer three times. So even if it worked I wouldn’t keep it. I was thinking with adjusting the die and giving it the old little snug fit was bulging the case at the head but I don’t see that it did that. I have the die just kissing the shell holder and same thing. I know it’s simple and it’s pissing me off. The brass is pretty much impossible to find so can’t afford to lose too many. I’m gonna sacrifice two cases on attempts tomorrow.

And how did it check in your case gauge? You are using one aren't you? The purpose of the case gauge in rifle calibers is to correctly set your resizing die. Wilson makes one. I don't know if they make an ammo checker for your caliber. I use a case gauge for everything I reload. I know that some people just use the barrel of their gun but that may or may not be spec.

morning, was this brass fire formed in this rifle? if not the chambers
of the original rifle might b different? I am not preaching.
u said u polished the brass? and the fit in the chamber changed?
less resistance? the rifle u r reloading for could have a
very tight chamber? factory brass works? no problem.
I know that 7mm mags. r very troublesome because
the case ring will expand. I would fire one of ur reloads.
see if the case fits better. u know most the reloading problems
come from cases fired in different rifles purchased as
1x. fl sizing in the norm will fix the
case problem. rotors insert is a viable solution.
is the brass of the same make?

I’m 99% sure all the we have was shot in this gun. I think there may be a case gauge in another die set we have. Brass is all same make only one maker ever made brass for this cartridge. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s a die adjustment problem and that this gun has a tight chamber possibly.

I’ve never owned a case gauge. This is the first time in 30 something years I’ve had a problem. Never blown a case except case separation during fire forming for Ackley rounds. Thousands upon thousands of rounds down range and through animals.
