Went ahead and put the new registration stickers on the two trucks. Got the stickers in early December but figured since the old ones are two weeks expired now it's about time.

Did this on my wife's car. Took it in for the state inspection 10 days ago, got the sticker in the mail yesterday. Next big hurdle is getting her DL renewed. She has to do it in person this time. Oh boy.

Also applied 303 protectant to all four tires and tires on my vehicle as well.

It's legal now. They have what is basically a clear ceramic tint that blocks the heat, reduces glare, but you can't tell it's tinted by looking at the vehicle.

Of course if you get a bad tint job, then you'll have issues with blurry, distorted, or bubbled areas.
I have it on my windshield. It does help with the heat

I've been thinking about doing this myself. Trying to decide if it's worth the money with the rock chips I have or if I should wait for a new windshield.

Any distortion with oncoming headlights? Does it help any with glare from the sun when it creeps just below your visor?

No distortion. I don't think it helps with glare. If the chips are sealed I would think you are ok if you want to get the film. I actually had a chip fixed after I had the film applied. I drive an Audi a4 and in the summer when we drive to NOLA I usually set the automatic A/C to ~76 and the car is cold.

I washed it. Discovered, or rather was recommended by a friend, a cool little widget that makes it easier to keep the paint nice too.

Put these on the trucks. The newer fancier models have them built in and I like the way they operate.

Great addition if you use the tailgate a lot or in general have a hard time controlling the heavy bastards.

Definitely a good addition. I’ve got the tailgate step and the retractable bed steps and didn’t know what I was missing out on until I used them a couple of time.

Makes life so much easier for what seemed like a gimmick.

Today was wife’s commuter car (06 VW Beetle TDI) maintenance. She was not happy with heater on the colder days. Sure enough, it was not heating at all. Did some internet research and found out the weird chunks of foam that had been blowing out of the dash vents all summer was what was left of the blend door liners, leaving huge holes which allowed outside air to negate any heat from making it into the cabin. Opted for the “hack” method of repair which involved removing the upper dash and radio, root zipping a holes in the heater box, and using aluminum flashing tape to cover the holes and saved about 6 hours of labor. Then I patched the heater box hole with lots of rubberized tape and Gorilla tape. Worked like a champ and wife is happy she has heat again.

Also replaced the noisy emergency flasher switch, and the annoying alternator whine that came out of the front passenger speaker (cleaned radio connections). It was a three for one repair.

I just snagged a used mercedes. 2008 E350 4matic wagon. (All wheel drive v6) 82,000 miles. I traded a feller for the title for some work on one of his other vehicles. It was a rough runner with a dead miss on cylinders 1, 2 and sometimes 3. Running super rich.

I have now pulled the intake manifold 2 times in attempt to seal it up and stop the leak. Ultimately it will need a new manifold. The leak is due to failure of the linkage for the tumble flap system inside the manifold.

It does have a salvage title due to hail damage. Overall it is well worth the time invested. If momma dont want it, it will become my work shooter. She is driving a R350 that has 220,500 miles on it.

Pardon the green man. Just covering my little helper.

    Speaking of...
I finally got around to doing the hose clamp tailgate mod, to slow a would-be thief enough to (hopefully) look elsewhere.

Get it snug and tap it around so the screw isn't so accessible. Slow them down more.

Or maybe you did since that isn't yours.

I used to do that until I got a truck with the rearview camera in it that cost over $1,000 to replace. When I got this truck, I put a pop lock actuator in there so now my tailgate locks every time I hit the lock button for the doors.

Come to think of it, I think I have a hose clamp too. I just don't trust it as much with the cost of the current tailgate.

It’s irritating that my trim level doesn’t have a power lock back there.

Which one did you install, and how tough was it to do?
