That video was actually from a test range. That said integrated defense systems with those close in weapon systems, anti missile systems like patriot and iron dome and the new laser systems may actually be pretty effective. It depends on how much is fired against them and what type of weapon and what geographical location.

They can still be overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Also, triage decisions, handled solely by computer mean some are allowed to get thru if they are heading to a non critical area. Add to this the problem of populated areas and no system will be perfect. You have to destroy the enemy first. Sometimes that's not a desired option.

The video is a sim; C-RAM (counter-rocket/mortar/etc., Phalanx CIWS variant) is a real deal and has been for a while. We had them in Kabul when I was there in 2012.

It works pretty well, so long as it can see the targets. The last time I got rocketed, they were shooting the rockets from a C-RAM blind spot.

Trump may have a plan, though he gives us nary a hint as to what he is trying to accomplish by the killing of a revered high leader.

My fear is that innumerable moderate Iranians and their like-minded men and women around the globe have been shifted abruptly to the right.

I would dearly admire Mr. Trump's taking to TV and making a national statement to explain himself.

We shall see.

Have we seen yet? More importantly did he see?

There may have been innumerable moderate Iranians and their like minded men and women around the globe, and in Iran, who have been shifted to the left. 'Khamenei must resign' and 'Soleimani is a murderer' sound like this may be the case. Women tearing the portraits of Soleimani off the walls may also show animosity to the regime.
