I would suggest you subscribe to Blue Book of Gun Values online edition. It cost $3.95/month. It is considered the Bible of gun trading and you can look up each individual firearm and get a very good idea of what it might sell for with no bias. If you go to a gun dealer he is going to use it to determine his offer, usually half of BB value.

That way you can make a list of make, model, caliber, SN etc and at your leisure look up each and figure a price. Read the instructions on how to determine condition.

Where is the best place to sell these? Here is a good spot. Good group of gun aficionados. We can all help with prices because, as a group, we have an intricate knowledge of pretty much all gun demographs.

Either way you decide to move forward will take a bit of effort on your part. Here all you need are a few good pictures and the info will pour in. So will the offers.

Gun store? Noooo. A gun store sells at retail, therefore they will only give you "trade-in" value (so to speak). If you sell them here then YOU will receive close to retail or "fair" pricing.

Im not sure what is worth what yet either and I don't want to be taken for a fool. Wont happen here. We all keep each other on the straight and
    narrow:green:

You'll get good info here with minimal effort on your part.

There are some fine folks here in the San Antoine area. Might behoove you to befriend one of them and get them to look it all over. A lot of info can be discussed face to face.

If you can wait till spring we have a "family reunion" at a central texas shooting range. Its a one day event where we all try to get together. The last gal that did what you are trying to do was fortunate enough to hit us about 2 weeks before the fall event and she showed up with a SUV full of stuff. She didnt take much home at all...:green:

Best of luck, welcome to the zoo. Look forward to seeing pics.

    Without a doubt.
    Howdy and welcome.

The last young lady in a similar position was able to sell just about everything she wanted to part with to this crowd. Knowledgeable folks who know lots of values turned into fair prices for all involved. Everyone went away happy.
Yup, I was one of those. Got 2 of them in fact.
Selling to a gun store you will only get wholesale value, significantly less than what you will get selling to a private party.
    Join in the conversations.
A: There is a lot to learn here from a lot of knowledgable and friendly people.
B: By the time you get to the required number of posts to sell, you might even make new friends as well as learn about what you actually have and may want to keep for various reasons. Some of them may out to be more valuable than the money you would get from them.
That also gives you time to catalog them and take a few detailed pics of each of them. When you do start posting, you will have a much better understanding of what they are worth and not cheat yourself. Or get frustrated by asking way more than they are actually worth.

    Be patient. And good luck.

What gun store pays wholesale? In over 50 years I've never seen one.

I'm not dinging gunstores but they make money on used guns when they buy. Probably about 30 percent of the value, some less and a good relationship with the store will help. Then again personal relationships with local buisness seems to have died in the walmart era, that's a rant for a different thread.

Anyways, They have huge overhead and only make a few bucks a piece on new guns. They gotta survive.

Depending on where you are in San Antonio, I may be able to help you out with at least getting pictures taken and posting them up here once you get enough posts to do so. Of course if it's something I can price, I'll surely help you do that as well. I just can't say for certain that I can do that without seeing what you actually have. I will PM you my contact info and we can see if that is possible.
