If I remember rightly at approximately 15' with 00 buck it was about 4" to 6"

That's not exactly an aim anywhere pattern. A Remington 870 riot gun with 00 Buck (9 pellets) has a pattern ~24" wide at 25 yds. That's with no flyers. In competition, shooting at the B27 silhouette target it was very important to hold dead center as the silhouette is on 27" wide. IIRC it was 5 rounds in 5 seconds, hard to do with the recoil factored in. I just checked and they don't shoot that anymore so couldn't verify the time. All I remember is you felt like a puppet on a string and someone was jerking the hell out of it.

I don't remember saying "aim anywhere", and I don't know what your definition of aim is. What I meant in "don't have to aim" is point in the general direction, not having to look down the bead.

Op, do you have your LTC? the second you get it, you should join the Garand collectors association and buy an M1 from the CMP.

I am definitely going to do that. I looked into all the requirements, and what they have available.

STAY AWAY FROM "Good deal gun thread". That Southpaw feller is intent upon making everyone file Bankruptcy.

Since August, I've sold three guns but bought another seven of them. Sell some now and again to make up for the cash expenditure on new purchases and or because the ones I sold were not to my liking. It's not an addiction, I just like guns.

Well, maybe you guys are addicted but not me. I can quit any time I want, just that I don't want to quit - so nahnah nahnah poopoo on all that addiction stuff. Now pardon me, I have to go check to see if I still have the high bids on a couple of guns at the online Hessney Online Sportsman Auction. By the way, that auction does not have anywhere near as many guns up for bids as do their regular firearms auctions (in which you can place bids online or in person at the live auction).
