Spent most of my adult life not really interested in owning or using a gun. About a year ago I started considering it, and a couple months ago I bought one. It was a rifle because l convinced myself it was a good choice (instead of a handgun) for both home defense and if I got an opportunity to hunt I could do that also. Really enjoyed going to the range and shooting it, and decided that maybe I would look at getting a 9mm and that would be a better choice for home defense. I went with a full size instead of the compact because I am a big guy with big hands and I wasn’t really interested in ever conceal carrying it. Now I’m thinking, if I get more proficient and comfortable with the 9mm, maybe I would consider looking into conceal carry, which would then mean I would probably have to buy another gun! I hope I run out of excuses before I run out of my kids inheritance!

Honestly, I believe a shotgun is your best choice for home defense. As the saying goes, "you use your handgun to get to your shotgun". You can use birdshot if you're concerned with wall penetration.

But you seem to be bitten by the bug, so you'll be posting others. Warning! If you hang around many in here you'll need to clear out a room for all the guns and gun stuff you'll be buying.

Personally, I believe a pistol is best for the confined quarters involved in home defense.

For outside the house, perhaps a different story depending upon the house/land.

One of each (okay, several of each) is optimal.

With the folding stock, my shotgun is very maneuverable, but then my 1911 is closest to hand, by about a foot or so.

I’ve been looking at all the deals they have going on and I just ordered a lower from PSA and a 10.5” pistol upper. May get another 16” carbine kit and lower just to have.

And the hook is now set.

    Lmao
    I love gun logic.

I just bought a PSA 308 upper so I could shoot cheaper ammo in my PSA 6.5 CM.

Mind you, I’ve only put 4 rounds thru the 6.5 CM up to this point...

    Here’s a tip:
    Don’t get into mechanical watches.
The addiction there also runs deep...
