He was on "Sunday Morning" acting pompously/self righteously aggrieved with the massive pro-gun backlash per his AR15 decision.

He pontificated his ass off as if 'his' decision to stop selling and destroy all the ebr's in inventory was the only 'reasonable/common sense' approach to ridding the world of satan's evil tools of destruction.

He lamely went on to say he is pro 2ndA.....but only for the guns he decides on....

    From this article:

The biggest retailer in the world taking a similar position helped take the heat off of them. In general, so goes Walmart, so goes retail.
I was actually thinking Walmart's recent virtue signalling was the reason Dicks was trying to call attention to themselves again. They are trying to say they were woke first. Can't let Walmart upstage them.

Companies are focused on selling to Millennials and this nonsense is what they’ve been told will work.
It's the next demographic to pander to. At most, only half of millennials actually care about the virtue signaling, tho... zennials definitely don't give a shit about it, but they aren't really spending money yet.

My sons would be considered Gen Z

They saw some climate protesters doing a Die In this morning on the news. My youngest asked “What are those idiots doing now?”

Probably taking a write off at full retail instead of cost too.

Only had one experience with Dick's. Went into the store at The Rim in SA. Walked through the gun section, looking to see if I could find some percussion caps, back during the great shortage. Couldn't find any. Clerk asked if he could help me find anything. I told him I was looking for percussion caps. He looked at me, and swear he asked me back, "Have you looked in the men's wear section? That's where the hats and caps are."
All I could do to keep from bursting out laughing at him. Why would anyone do business with morons like that?

When in Phoenix about 10 years ago I went to one of those stores (see what I did? Not going to set myself up for the out of context thread). I was initially impressed with the selection and comprehensive inventory. But Everything was at full bore retail or “Preacher’s discount” (list price plus 20 %). I mean Nothing was marked down. I couldn’t find anything that I had to have at those prices.
