Just got a small hog around 60lbs , her liver was spotty. Are fluke worms common in East Texas or is this some other disease?

The wife is a vet and said it looks more like round worm which isnt uncommon in wild hogs.
It's been a while since I've cleaned a hog and had forgotten about that one! Thanks for the reminder.

So is it safe to eat still or no?
If it's just worms then the meat is generally safe to eat as long as it is cooked thoroughly, 165°F or higher. I would dump any of the organs though and don't feed them to pets either. Wear gloves when handling the carcass. In the UK if you want to sell meat from game animals you have to attend a course which teaches you undertake a rudimentary inspection of the carcass, lymph nodes and organs for signs of disease prior to selling or processing.
