Respectfully disagree. 6.5 is plenty to take down an elk. Lots have been taken with a Grendel, and 6.5 Swede. Creedmoor sits in the middle.Mine dropped an average hill country whitetail like Thor's hammer last December.
It's a .243 on steroids or a .270 on a diet. Whichever.
How could it not be deadly on our little deer?
Were I hunting moose or elk I'd go bigger though.
6.5 Creedmoor is BAE. It can reach out and touch something, will take any north American game, and the Henry long ranger comes in it! Would be a wize choice.
Medic, Coffee nerd, Otaku, Fisherman.
Lol its a acronym. Stands for before anyone else. What does BAE mean? In Flemmish, or Dutch, can't ermember which, it means shit or more like a little kid would say, poop or doo doo.
Throw on a Vortex Diamondback scope and you'll be good to go. It's an inexpensive scope, but is by no means a cheap scope. You'd probably have to tack on an extra $150-$200 to find a truly better scope. I love mine.Okay. So I’ve ordered the Ruger American Rifle (Predator) in 6.5 Creedmoor. Left handed bolt. No scope, so I have to pick that out next. Adding an inexpensive bipod from Amazon.
