    Gunz are icky.
A word about the Beretta 21A in 22LR.
You must keep the chamber clean or the gun will choke.
It doesn't have an extractor. Cycling depends on the empty shell case being carried rearward by blow back pressure.
If the chamber gets dirty, the fired case will begun to stick/adhere in the chamber and you'll have a FTE.
Polish the chamber when you first get the gun.
Run a bore snake thru it after every 3 or 4 mags while shooting. It will run all day if this is done.
The little guns are fun to shoot. They are loud.
Disassembly for cleaning is very simple and easy.
Buy several magazines. Test them. I've had brand new factory mags not run.

I agree about keeping that chamber nice and clean, but I'm pretty anal about doing that with all my firearms, so no problem. I can't say that I've run into any of my mags having problems, but I take it as an article of faith that the most troublesome firearms tend to be .22 pistols . . . but I tend to blame that largely on the ammo rather than the pistol(s). My 21a gets fired exclusively with the suppressor and I've never had it malfunction, though it doesn't see high round counts.

An alternative to the mini Berettas is the Taurus PT-22 series, either the heavier older version or the newer poly-framed version. So far mine has been utterly reliable. The grip on my Annoying Cricket allows a full three fingers and the palm swell fully fills my hand.

Here it is compared to a Ruger LCP for relative sizes.

The PT-22 Poly is a true DAO action with second strike capability which with rim fire ammo can be an advantage. When the barrel release is pushed it flips up and really tosses the cartridge a considerable distance.

Finally, the really long fish scale serrations on the slide provide a nice surface making racking the slide far easier than on the older Taurus PT-22 or the Beretta Bobcat I once had.

Bought my PT-22 almost 10 yrs ago as a manager's special for $149. No one wanted a yellow pistol. Bought it before I had a LTC. It was the first pistol I ever carried concealed, when I got my LTC some years later. Had to save up my money to buy an LCP for a little under $200. The LCP is the go-to when I need a tiny pocket pistol. It's almost the exact same size as a PT-22 with a much more powerful round...and better inherent reliability.

Well, as someone in a wheelchair (learning to walk all over again), I pretty much LIVE in athletic shorts of one type or another.

Been there, done that. Got the.......and the..... etc., etc. If ya was closer, I'd be happy to come over and show off the bad habits I re-learned.

After having been 'scripted a KAFO (Knee Ankle Foot Orthotic), a device that puts a mechanical exoskeleton on your lower extremity from the foot and ankle to the crotch area, I learned that wearing shorts, of almost any kind, make it a whole lot easier to put on, and wear said device. It also tends to rip up, cut up, and generally destroy, whatever long pant I might wear with it overall. After never having been a shorts person before, there was a major curve in the apparel and lifestyle change to go with it that just carried over to everyday wear. And though I don't where it all the time, it is "highly recommended" that I do. Read as," Doc. says...." And just as soon as all the kinks are worked out with it and fixed, I will. Mostly.

So, while I'm normally in pull-on type shorts at the house, going off property requires me to be in a belted short of some kind 99.9999% of the time. And those are normally some type of cargo short. There is almost always a pair of those with a belt already on them, so it's nothing much more than pulling them on. Having it/them pre-staged as such, means I can throw whatever I need to in my pocket(s) or on the belt and go do what needs doin'.

Bought one new. Fired 9 rounds before the trigger pin broke. Taurus took a month to repair. Sold it after testing. Just did not trust it.
