    ^THIS^ Cats are natural hunters. They are bringing you a gift because they consider you family, not because they are trained to.
    But if you give them a treat every time they bring a "gift" they will bring more gifts.

    A buddy had a dog that would stand in the middle of the road. When it did he would tempt it back to the house with a treat. I told him he was training it to stand in the road.

    When the treats stopped and the swats started the dog quit standing in the road.

    Only if you treat them badly. They don't learn form it, they get even. If you are going to have a cat you might as well be buds and accept their gifts since they mean well.
    . . . I married a redhead, but she's one of the rare ones with a good attitude. No training was possible or required.
