I built several FALs back in the day. If that was my kit, I'd build something like this. The railed handguard is Vltor. They announced it earlier this year but it may still be vaporware.

DSA T1 upper, DSA aluminum lower, cut the barrel to 17.375" ("Para" length), add "compliance parts", refinish and assemble.
