Wow! Quite informative. I had always "assumed" that a Texan was just SOL in IL.
You can actually carry in Illinois in a very limited capacity with an out of state license. You are legal to carry in your vehicle if you have an out of state license.

    But ONLY in your vehicle.

True, I forgot to mention this. Before I got my license, I would still carry concealed in my vehicle. IL also recognizes the Federal "transport" provisions, so I would carry a small lockable safe to transport my weapon from my vehicle to my hotel room. IL also recognizes the right to have a gun in your "residence" without a CCL.

Should have also mentioned, you cannot get an IL NR CCL unless you already have a current TX LTC.

Apparently the tough states to get a license are CA, NY, NJ, HI, RI, DE, and D.C.

    D.C. issued 127
    NJ 1212
    RI 2560
    HI 0

    Darkpriest667,

In MARYLAND it's like NYC to get a CCL. - Its WHO you know that counts. = When I was stationed at Ft. Meade, the Director of the MSP stated that a MAJOR GENERAL was "possibly of poor moral character and/or possibly mentally unstable" & refused to issue him a CCL.

OTOH, a man from Baltimore (who had been repeatedly investigated by the FBI repeatedly for violations of the MANN ACT), which is "transporting women across state lines for immoral purposes", i.e., for PROSTITUTION and/or PORNOGRAPHY was issued a MD CCL.

Everybody "on post" thought that that was just FUNNY.

    yours, satx
