So, I entertain myself by watching youtube vids on politics, economic forecasts, natural disasters and climate changes.

Plenty of vids warning that we are soon to be experiencing an economic catastrophe. The reasons cited are many. From the collapse of the dollar due to South American countries moving away from it, to China's actions to our own level of unfunded liabilities, etc.

There are also many about all of the volcanic activity over the past few years, the Yellowstone caldera activity and increasing number of major storms, hurricanes and the like.

Then there are all of the vids about Nibiru - or planet X being in our solar system and how this was all described by ancient texts like the various Sumerian writings, Indian and Biblical events. Personally, I have never seen "two suns" like you see in pictures posted - many of which look very credible - ie: they're not lens flares. The basic tenet is that we're in the end times as described in Revelations among other parts of the Bible and that Nibiru is the Red Dragon or Wormwood.

The "ancient aliens" vids are interesting too - plenty of them as well. And they dovetail in with the Nibiru vids with many citing evidence of the Anunaki ("Those who from heave to earth came") being the progenitors of mankind - uplifting the existing hominids to homo sapiens through genetic splicing. They basically make the case that this is what is being described in the Bible in Genesis as well. Hmmm.

Now, I've been watching these vids over the last oh, 10 years and they've been predicting disaster the whole time.... but we're still here and chugging along.

So, what do ya'll think about all of this? Do you keep up with it? Ignore it?

Even the Mayans tried to predict the end of the world. They failed hard. The problem is that we keep finding older and older human remains and art. We're finding dinosaurs that's no where as old as they're suppose to be.

I take the Battlestar Galactica approach. We keep blowing ourselves up and have to do it all again. Repeatedly.

If you are talking about the end of this world, I ignore such. Only God knows when Christ will return.

If you are talking about a "it hits the fan" scenario, probably okay until we suffer a Dem sweep in both houses and the WH.

Grasshopperglock: Well, yes, I've seen evidence of that too. They've now found all kinds of "modern" objects like a forged steel hammer with wooden handle embedded in rock that's millions of years old. Very weird.

There's a few channels that are focused on stuff being uncovered in Antarctica as well - like pyramids and runways and roads and paved areas. Of course, it's like objects being seen on Mars where the objects are very eroded... the thing about Antarctica though is that we can get there much easier and look at this stuff up-close but I understand that it's restricted to government types only? Not that I'm going to be taking a flight down there any time soon lol.

Sounds like you're much more focused on the political/economic stuff and dismissive of the "fantastic" stuff. I think this is where a lot of people are at.

I'm just fascinated by the fantastic stuff... goes along with being a lifelong sci-fi fan I guess. And I read the "Chariots of the Gods" book when it first came out and that's what got me interested in that topic.

I'd have to say that given everything that I've seen evidence-wise to this point, I am convinced that we've been influenced by extra-terrestrials. And the case for them "uplifting" our species is very strong too - including the DNA evidence.

ZX9RCAM, Last September 23 (2017) the constellations, planets, sun and moon did align just as described in Revelations 12. And this has not happened for - I forget, but hundreds of thousands of years and won't happen again for just as long. Talking about the constellation Virgo, Leo, Saturn, the moon and sun - all aligned as described. It's a sign in the heavens that we are "in" the end times.

Now, if you accept that this is what is described in Rev 12, it doesn't mean that the time is upon us imminently. I don't think that it's clear just how long it will be before the tribulations commence. Duration of some of the tribulations is detailed though. I'm no Biblical expert - far from it.

And of course, there have been many times over the last millennia that people have declared that the end times had started - based on signs... but I like to think we're a little more sophisticated now and not quite as prone to jumping to conclusions - but I may be wrong!

I'm not a bit worried about the "end times". People have been spouting that crap forever. Bible says: "The end of times will come like a thief in the night."
Besides, I worry about MY life ending, and although the second destruction of Earth can't be predicted , I am pretty damn sure I won't be around to see it.

I worry more about the collapse of the Country, which is more imminent, and possible in our lifetimes.

Still, my main concern is if there is beer in the fridge .......priorities man!!!!

Yes my concerns are more immediate as well. Like earning enough money to pay bills... and as to the rest, I am generally prepared for events that can stop the delivery of food, shut off the power, etc... though not as much as I'd like to be.

I like the way the Mormons handle it. Tell everyone that when Hell comes to earth, they'll be forced to survive it for a year before being allowed to ascend. That way everyone preps and they'll be ready for real things like hurricanes and socialism.

End is near 1984 due to economy when car loan rates were 13% on a 3 year note. End is near 1985 due to job market being terrible. End is near late 1980's due to housing market. End is near early 1990's due to interest rates. End is near 2000 due to Y2k. End is near 2002 due to 9/11 impact on economy. End is near 2008 due to housing market collapse. End is near 2009-2016 due to Obama being elected. End is near 2016 due to Hillary being the front runner. End is near 2017 due to Trump being elected.

Being as I purchased my first used car in 1998, I would like to muse on 13% car notes. I snipped this from the internet... (take it for what it is worth)

    1984

    Car Cost: $11,374

    Change From Previous Year: +$767

Car Cost in 2016 Dollars: $25,948.

    Average us income, $16,135.

I would assume that at that time new cars were actually expensive. With a 13% note on top of that, was the idea considered a luxury?

Growing up in mid sized city Minnesota with a single mom we never owned a new car. That might make sense now.

First, don’t take what I have to say as an insult to you. Definitely not the case.

The hilarious thing about YouTube is the amount of pure trash on it. So do my life experiences make me an expert? Absolutely not. I have said these things before on this board, but most conspiracy theories involving science are fake or IMO generated to make money. If you take your time and research real data you will discover a lot of Conspiracy claims in regards to astronomy don’t hold up. Now you could rebuttal with what if data is altered? Sure. It’s always a possibility but nasa and plenty of other services outsource to universities. This is how I debunked a lot of astronomy claims back in the early 2000’s from Alex Jones website and others like him. One was the case of Aussie bloke claiming a group of asteroids were gonna hit us. After doing a little digging, not only was a professors name used online without his knowledge, the soho images used as proof were misrepresented because people didn’t know the artifacts in question were blind spots you could say due to its own hardware. These spots were blacked out and thought to be censored but at the time it couldn’t physically view that area. Most professionals I have met threw my fathers work history have been normal joe blows. Some of them in astronomy, some high up in the cdc, one with homeland security, all in all the things talked about on camping trips don’t make me feel like much is going on. Also we should always challenge ourselves to research claims as best we can in this day and age. It’s really hard to keep things a secret. People talk. I won’t dismiss a rebuttal that the government will kill people or discredit them. I’m not gonna say you’re wrong, you may not be.

Planet X is the biggest lie imo. It’s not coming. Now new study does support maybe we do have a binary twin for our sun; maybe. Also another giant might be beyond the kuiper belt but a Planet X disaster claim is going against the properties of what we know about the universe like it’s claimed orbit. Also the tie ins with the Mayan calendar was getting ridiculous. 2012 the year of disaster was supposed to happen before 2012. The internet ran pretty good with 2012. Another issue people have is calendars. Like going from the Julian to gregorian. Calendars indeed have issues. Though ancient aliens is something I’m very open to. I think it’s very possible aliens did visit us. As a nerd I hope so. I think drawings from ancient civilizations depict very obvious encounters. Like this one:
    A1CA0C81-CB12-4B04-8A7A-65ED75E5D1AA.jpeg

Sure looks like light or other energy from a corded power source to me.

I don’t know dude...just my two cents. Maybe I’m wrong and In that case live life to it’s fullest!

Yeah, sure. We keep advancing to the point where we create something more advanced than us, we goto war with it, and it knocks us back to the stone age. Then we do it again... But what do man kind's artificial progeny do after they leave us?

    This is a fun one...
