Stevens Model .22/.410 Great Grandpa let me "borrow" and never return it he's since passed on and it's the only gun of his I have. Come to find out in his old age he didn't care for guns and had my uncle sell all his handguns and split the money between us grand kids. Uncle was able to hold into the long guns wish he hasn't followed through with the selling of the handguns but its what te old man wanted :-/
I still have the H&R 9-shot break top revolver that was in the house in the '50s/'60s. It likely went unfired for 2-3 decades before it was passed to me when Mom died.
I WANTED my first to be a Ruger 10/22, but this was just about a week ago, so I couldn't find it at all. I went ahead and bought a Mossberg 715A. It's basically a 702 with AR style furniture.
Well, as I understand the story, my granddad got this Take-Down Savage Pump Repeating .22 Short, Long and Long Rifle octagon barrel rifle when he was 16 and gave to my dad when he was 16 and Dad gave it to me when I turned 16 and I passed it on to my son 9 1/2 years ago when he turned 16. It has been a very accurate little .22 and not fired in many years, but, it still works. It has had some repairs over the years to try keeping it operating.
